Took my son and daughter and my son & daughter’s friend here for a quick lunch on a really nice day out . their friend was really sweaty and really stunk so wasn’t too excited that they were hanging but it’s ok because my son & daughter are friends with them . It was tuesday and so they (the friend) got that one sandwich with an egg on it per their advertisement on the side of their restaurant on the dupont side (the restaurant is on a corner and the dupont side says something about an egg on a sandwich of some sort and the friend seemed super enthused by that which I wasn’t too enthused by because the friend really stank already and I thought “oh of course the stinky friend wants the egg thing, like duh of course she does oh my God” ! ) Yeah but and so I got a chicken sandwich and it was really good and my son got a meatball thing and my daughter got a chicken thing also and and they were good and they liked these. and then my daughter and sons friend bought the egg thing which they bought and I assumed they enjoyed I guess but oh man the car ride home was excruciating. .After dropping the friend off at their home in richmond hill I sent an eteansfter request to the friend mother because I didn’t want to pay for their sandwich (the sandwiches are reasonably priced I just really didn’t want to pay for the friends sandwich on general principle). anyways good sandwiches I recommend but never want to hang with theirbfriend again horrible time with the friend lovely time with...
Read morePapamio's has a sign that reads "The Best Italian Sandwich In Town" above the door. This is misleading, as there are many places to get a more tasteful sandwich in Toronto.
When I walked into the store, I was greeted with a grunt by the cook working on some food, mask hanging off one ear. No hello, no smile, I was made to feel like I was intruding on him by wanting to place an order. I was about to walk out until someone else came from the back, who turned out to be the owner. Super nice guy, making friendly conversation for not only me but everyone else in the restaurant. To be honest, his hospitality is what gave my review three stars and not one.
Sadly, I can't justify giving Papamio's anything more than three stars. The spicy veal sandwich I ordered wasn't spicy, nor did it have the same flavourful taste I'd come to expect from an Italian veal sandwich. There wasn't much sauce on the sandwich I received, and the veal was bland; nothing special there either.Inside the restaurant itself, there wasn't much room to sit, and the two stools they had were too high for their table, leading me to lean down as I ate.
I really hope this was an off-day for them, being a small business and competing against other restaurants in the area. I'd say go and give it a try for yourself, but go in knowing you aren't going to have the "best Italian sandwich in town" or you'll be...
Read morePrice: great at $10 a sandwich and each sandwich is made on a fresh bun and comes with a bunch of standard toppings: mushrooms, caramelized red onion, sweet peppers and homemade basil pesto 🤤 can't go wrong with anything you order here
My experience: One of the best panini's I have had in Toronto and Woodbridge. It's a few blocks west of Bathurst St, on the corner of DuPont and Manning Ave. I tried the eggplant parmesan vegetarian sandwich and it was perfect. The extra toppings (sweet peppers, cheese, mushrooms, onions, sauce and hot sauce), perfect amount of spice (not spicy but a tasteful flavour of spice) and sauce🤤🤤. The eggplant parm was fresh and crispy even though I walked with my pickup for 15 minutes. The sandwich is so large they pack each half seperate and half is easily a meal of it's own. Also tried a homemade peanut butter cookie and it was thick, soft, chewy and very tasty. Fresh, quality, authentic food and so glad it's at a gem of a location. I noticed they also have panna cotta which you don't see everywhere so look forward to trying that next time. Highly recommend this spot! 😍
