I wasn't feeling well and almost every other place was closed. It may have been dehydration. Like the three wise men found the stars to guide them, my three devices gps, google and car guided me here. I go in and rush to the men's room. It was exceptionally clean considering how it was holiday season and this was the only open location even Tim Horton's next door was closed. Let that sink in. When I came back out, i went to the counter to purchase a soda. I needed diet and they only had Coke. The cashier, he saw the distress on my face and asked politely, if I needed anything else. I responded, no thanks. He's like ok, just take the soda, it's on the house. I was taken aback. As if, someone shook my soul and said, "see, there is more to communication than verbal". It was like the dude saw that I wasn't having an amazing time and did what he could to make it better. It wasn't that I was short on money and struggling to find the right change or he feared that I will make a huge fuss about how they didn't have my drink and should apologize. Matter of fact is, it was nothing at all yet it became something. It became an Act of Random Kindness on his part. My grandfather used to say "son, we all come up excuses as to why something cannot be done but all we need to do is, give our best effort and that's it. Outcome is out of our control because at the last moment, years of plans can fall apart due to a miniscule detail but if we just focus on our best effort, we will be ok". How does that relate here? It does in a sense, that dude didn't have to do anything at all in the first place but something happened somewhere and he's like "it's on the house". Perhaps he thought maybe this will help? Random Act of Kindness that is. What will I do about it? I will pass it forward. How does this review relate to Popeye's? Well I haven't tried the food there but if they have such humble staff working there even if the food wasn't that good, I'll give it a pass. Random dude, my best wishes towards your health...
Read moreCame in at around 1130 AM to place a big order for Tuesday Specials for a group of 12. It was right before the rush but the staff heard me say it was a big order. They all gather around and called out the order to the kitchen staff as I was ordering. Very well organized, it felt like they were firing the chicken fresh like a fine dining restaurant.
The cashier was switched on and got my order correct on the first go. Staff gave me a estimated time for my order to be ready and kept me updated as I waited. One of the staff members even had the time to ask me what the order was and actually made a effort to speak with me.
The food is exceptional and I honestly don't care to write a review on fast food restaurants as they are all similar. I have been to a few Popeyes around the GTA and they were all inconsistent. Maybe I am bias cause this is close to my house but their food is always on point. Fried chicken is always super crispy and juicy on the inside. Their sandwiches are always fresh and seasoned properly.
I was living in the area when they first opened and service has always been great. Only took me until now to leave a good review for their consistently...
Read moreI wouldn’t ever go here again... I ordered 2 platters and a poutine for take out. I always check but of course I didn’t today. I get home and realize they forgot my poutine even though I was charged for it. When the restaurant was called the manager says he isn’t able to deliver the poutine because they “don’t deliver” but they do deliver. The second time we called we were told sorry they can’t deliver because there are no available drivers. Clearly this so called manager is confused. Third time we called of course because the previous two times we were hung up on, we were told the actual store owner doesn’t live in the country? Wouldn’t give any contact information. Says he doesn’t care if we’re missing anything. Not once was there any apology or any acknowledgment for the mistake on there part. We even asked if everything was in the bag and were told yes. So disappointing! Such bad customer service... how did this Ammar even get a job? There are others in this world who actually need a job and can actually do the job right... he needs to leave... no customer service skills whatsoever. The last time I checked, you can’t be a manager if you lack customer...
