I recently had the pleasure of dining at Portici Italian Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my visit. The service was impeccable; our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, ensuring our dining experience was exceptional from start to finish. The food was nothing short of spectacular. The Pinsa Canadese was a standout, with its perfectly crispy base and harmonious blend of flavors, it was clear that only the freshest ingredients were used. The Penne Chicken Pesto Pasta was another delight, offering a rich and creamy taste that was both comforting and sophisticated. As for the drink, the Aperol Spritz was refreshing and well-balanced, the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Moreover, the interior of the restaurant added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dinner. The décor was elegant yet inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the location of the restaurant is ideal, easily accessible and situated in a lovely area, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. Overall, I would highly recommend Portici Italian Restaurant to anyone looking for high-quality Italian cuisine, exceptional service, and a beautiful setting. I'm already looking forward to...

I don’t know who is propping up the rating to the 4.6 it’s currently at. Portici set a new benchmark for a 1 star. However, if the lowest rating I can give service is a 1 star, then food would have to be a 2. Not because the food was good, but because the service was that bad. I would like to excuse it due to short staffing, but even when we were the only customers, the server was not present. I had to flag him down for each order and when we did order, nothing arrived at the same time. 3 martinis ordered, 10 mins between each one arriving at the table. I was very excited to share the Yorkville and Funghi Pisa that jumped out at me on the menu. I would’ve been content with the meal if I had made it at home, but this was not restaurant quality, mediocre at best. We had been done our meals for 45 mins and began to wonder if the bill was ever going to come. To our disappointment, it did.. After the sign was turned around to “Closed” lol. This was a shockingly poor experience and am glad to never return. The only positives were the mini dried rose on the martini and the company I...

Disappointing indeed. We like to support the independent restaurants, but unfortunately they are not up to scratch. We had a two course rushed meal, in and out in 45 minutes, not much of a date night. We ordered drinks and appetizers, that was quick which was great. The server asked us a number of times if we were ready to order main course which we did but didn’t order wine right away. We were still chewing our last bite of the appetizers and the plates were removed and main course put down right away. No asking what wine we would like, no replacement cutlery or a spoon with the spaghetti, no offering of pepper, no asking how our meal was! The flavours of the main courses were bland and disappointing. Had one piece of old stale baguette with the food, had to be at least a day old. Asked if we wanted desert, which at this point we didn’t, offered the bill right away. The owner asked how the meal was, we said it was disappointing and she just said ok and walked away, didn’t want to hear anything more. Gave 2 stars because it was at least very clean. Not going to go...

The food was not good. The pasta was overdone, too soft, and the sauce was very watery. Why was there a layer of water in my sauce? The food here absolutely does not compare with other Italian restaurants in the area. Do not come here if you're expecting real Italian food. The service is also extremely slow. It took a very long time to get our food and while I would regularly inform the server about my dissatisfaction with the food, I did not want to deal with the long wait times to address it. It also took a painfully long time to get our bill. It took forever to get the attention of the staff because no one was ever around. When we finally saw our server, we asked for our bill and for some reason, our server went off and continued doing other things. Then the server disappeared for a very long time, and didn't give us our bill until 15 minutes later. We did not enjoy our experience here. UPDATE: Reached out to the restaurant over 2 weeks ago per their acknowledgement in addressing my review and never received a response back.

We went on a Wednesday evening in June and the weather was great, so we sat on the patio, which was nice. Weds are $10 pizza nights. We got the Fornino and Quattro Formaggio (w/o Gorgonzola). When asking the server's opinion, he said he doesn't really like the pizza 😳 They were okay, but I'll say I'm glad they were $10, because I would've been disappointed if I had paid full price. Our server never stopped by our table after taking our order (someone else brought the pizzas out), so it was a little annoying he didn't check on us even once. I even had to ask someone else about how to pay for our meal. Three stars for atmosphere and ingredients seemed fresh, but overall was disappointed with the pizzas and definitely our particular server. A different server had originally seated us and she was very friendly, and I had no issue with the gentleman that served us our food/helped us with the check.
