This place is a rip off with very rude service. All beer pitchers are listed as $15 on the menu, but when our bill came our pitcher showed up as $17. When we mentioned to our server that we would like the difference back since the price was falsely advertised on the menu, she said "I'll just take it out of my tip" and gave us the $2 back. I tried to explain to her that we did not mean to take it out of her tip, but rather the bill itself.
Later as I was standing by the bar waiting for my friends, I overheard her complaining to her coworker about the amount of tip we left her and she was mocking what I had said about "false advertisement" (We left a 15% tip). She continued gossiping about us for at least 5 minutes until my friends returned. She did this while aware that I was standing about 1 meter away, hearing everything she was saying about us.
I confronted her later, politely explaining that its very unprofessional to be complaining about a customer while the customer is standing right there. She denied it saying she wasn't compaining and did not apologize. It left a very bad taste in our mouths, and we will be contacting management regarding this incident.
Aside from that, the $10 "muchos nachos" was the smallest I have ever seen in a restaurant, with 1 layer of chips sprinkled on a tray.
Not at all fond of the skimpy portions and the entitled attitude...
Read moreWhile a bit understaffed (understandably so with shortages), Pour Boy is somewhere my friends had introduced me to during the pandemic. Not once have they let us down, even with busy staff.
Their staff have been continuously friendly despite peak hours and large groups. The prices are great and so are the servings!
The atmosphere is wonderful, its intimate and cozy, yet casual and fun. The music isn't played so loud that you're required to yell across the table- you can have a quiet conversation without feeling drowned out.
Parking is available across from Pour Boy- there's a Green P lot. But it's also a short walk from Christie Station!
On my visits so far, I've ordered: Poutine Crispy Garlic Tofu Shrimp crackers with peanut sauce (the peanut sauce is amazing!) Nachos
The poutine would have to be my least favorite of the listed items, my partner felt that the size was a bit inadequate in comparison to their other items and was a bit lacking in ingredients, but other than that- all the meals that came to our table were large portions that were above our expectations!
Absolutely...
Read moreThis is your typical Red Lounge, Green Room, and Nirvana hang out. The summer time can really give this place brownie points as the patio is a sweet spot for a pitcher of pretty tasty Sangria or one of their beers on tap.
This cash only restaurant has a really funky indoor decor however once inside the seating is really limited and crooked. If that doesn't bother you - perhaps the quality of some of the dishes might.
I could recommend: Pad Thai, Burgers, and Nacho's -- and any of their drinks - but I haven't found their food to be something I've longed for.
The speakeasy prices go hand in hand with the good drinks and good times associated, this place isn't to be overlooked - stop in if your in the area but be prepared to get your drink on rather than your foodie critique on.
The place has great service which almost always is accentuated with a cute and polite waitress - so that's always an...
