A fair warning if this is your first time visting. This place is good if you are looking for a quick bite. NOT A PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT TO EAT RELAXED. I was a little disappointed with the service. We we're rushed the entire time. I came from up north to celebrate my birthday. Took me longer to get to the location than I spent trying to enjoy my dinner. Before covid my family and I used to go all the time until we moved north. Was really looking forward to eating here since we could not visit on account of how far we lived. I have been working in the restaurant business for 22 years and this was the first time I have seen an owner watch their staff clear plates while they were still eating, not opening wine bottles that were ordered at the table, clearing bottles of water with water in so we can order another, bringing dessert out while our table was still eating, trying to take our wine bottle with wine still in it. Good for a very quick bite and out. Would have liked to order cocktails in the beginning and had wine with our meals. I did not enjoy my night at all if i would have known that they would close before the posted time i would not have choosen to celebrate at another establishment. It has become very canadianized, italian culture is to enjoy your food not have a 3 course meal in an hour. Unfortunately i will not be returning due to how they manage their restaurant, it is unfortunate but i am the type of person who likes to enjoy my meal. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Just keep in mind if you plan on visiting unless you are a friend or family you will...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Roberto’s, especially considering I’ve been here before and had better experiences.
This time, the service was terrible from the start. Our server was cold, rude, and unhelpful. She didn’t check on us once throughout the meal, and the overall vibe from the staff made us feel as though we didn’t belong there—something no guest should ever feel in a restaurant.
The food was equally disappointing. The Rigatoni Pollo was undercooked and difficult to chew, and the veal parmigiana tasted stale, with breadcrumbs that were noticeably undercooked.
To make matters worse, while clearing the table, the server accidentally tipped over a partially full water bottle, spilling it all over my girlfriend and soaking her clothes. She didn’t offer a real apology—just a casual “Have a good night, guys” as we were walking out, clearly uncomfortable.
After this experience, I won’t be coming back. It’s unfortunate to see such a decline in both service and food quality from a place I...
Read moreHome style Italian restaurant, with dishes a random Italian neighbour might serve you, if they were a Nona of 60 years. Fantastic large slices of parmigiano reggiano on the beef carpaccio. A simple take on a caprese salad, and the ravioli tasted almost identical to a old lady I might've met in my youth. The sauce is no where near as good as Nona's, but still passable. And the snapper was lovely. The menu is one large chalk board that gets moved around the restaurant. This feels like an authentic, home style Italian place with a series of classic dishes that will appease your typical Italian, and keep your dates happy. Not too sure about the cannolis, but my standards are a bit high...
