I was super excited to visit this place today. I heard a lot about it through blogto and through a friend. Let me tell you this, the only reason why this place even got 2 stars is because the art is amazing. When I got there, I arrived after 1:30 which is the time they promote they will start doing Art on coffee again. When I got up to the register to order and pay I asked for the art I wanted and the barista looks back at me and (with a very PISSED off face) goes "Im NOT taking requests i'm done! I'm just surprising people" Her tone was horrible. The woman at the cash tried to make the situation better by saying how shes been bending over drawing all day and shes the only one there. I'm sorry but that's really not the way to go about it. Instead why not print a sign and put that on the door. Afterall, MOST people are going to your place for the art, are they not? It was so confusing, so rude and I had no idea what was going on. The coffee arrived half warm and yes there ended up being art on it. If the barista just explained to me nicely that she was tired and was just doing random drawings i would be fine with that. But her tone was not nice. How about you guys staff up on the weekends and give your employees a break so they don't snap at customers for no reason. I'm a first timer and a last timer. Your customer service skills were the key factor to turning me away from coming...
Read moreThis weekend I was out in Markham and Toronto with my mom so we decided to try a really popular coffeehouse in Downtown Toronto. The Coffee House has a really great reputation on Instagram where many users post pictures of the cute designs they got drawn onto their coffee foam. The shop was located in the very busy Yonge street. We decided to visit the shop at around 4:30 when it was not as busy. The shop is pretty small but the sofas and rustic wooden tables make you feel really cozy. We ordered a small Cafe Latte, Cafe Mocha and a Hot Chocolate. The service at the Coffee House is on pointe and the staff there are really friendly. At the Himalayan Coffee House, you can choose to request a design or to ask for a surprise. We were surprised with three different designs; a unicorn on the hot chocolate, a Hello Kitty on the mocha and a bear on the latte. My favourite design was the bear and I really did not want to destroy the design. We didn’t have enough time to sit down at the shop to enjoy the full experience and we had to get takeout cups but the coffee was still...
