It's a really small Second Cup that is not accessible. The washrooms are down a set of very uneven steps in the basement, and it is the size that is really just suitable for 1 person max, but they've crammed 2 toilets in there needlessly. Cannot fit anything else other than yourself in a stall, and if you're by yourself then you'll just have to take a chance and leave your bag outside hoping no one will steal anything, alternatively on the bathroom floor. Additionally in the back, there is either one chair too many or a poor arrangement of tables and seats leaving little room to walk through.
The store is kept at a ridiculously cold temperature, maybe to get people to leave earlier. Definitely wouldn't recommend studying here for longer than 3h cause you will start wishing you just sat outside at that point.
The staff are a hit-or-miss, some being really friendly but others that I have previously encountered have been very dismissive.
Between 13:30-17:00 on a Thursday, seemed to be the most people at around 16:30, which I found interesting.
No music played, or at least very quietly I couldn't hear much.
Tldr: Not accessible location. Good place to quickly stop and grab a coffee to go, highly wouldn't recommend actually sitting down for...
Read moreThe service was warm and welcoming. The two baristas were very friendly. There are plenty of tables to sit and cafe. I ordered a Vanilla Cold Brew and if you're a sugar lover, this is your drink. Way too sweet for me, I was to happy when the ice melted and watered the sugar down.
Their main floor is clean and cafe lounge friendly. However their washroom looks completely out of place. The stalls are to tiny to even turn around. There is no hook for your purse or jacket (in or outside the stall). If it wasn't for the scary movie toilets, I would recommend this joint.
If you're Not looking to use the washroom, this is a beautiful cafe to sit, work, converse.
$7 Vanilla Cold Brew I gave ☆☆☆☆s because the drink was extremely sweet, the washroom was something out of an abandoned scary movie. The straw was plastic (not to be a turtle lover, but come on- I thought the city ruled out plastic straws. Overall, Second Cup seems to cheap out and avoid branding their cups, they're using plastic straws and can't be bothered to update their bathroom with a simple hook for hanging. I had to rest my purse on the floor that looked...
Read moreI recently visited the Second Cup Coffee Shop with high expectations, unfortunately my experience was far from satisfying. I ordered a cappuccino, but what I received was a major letdown. The espresso base of the cappuccino tasted stale and musty, as if the machine had not been cleaned or descaled in a long time. There was a noticeable bitter and sour undertone that overshadowed any potential richness or creaminess in the milk. Moreover, the espresso shot seemed over-extracted likely due to using fewer beans than necessary for a proper extraction. This resulted in a weak and unbalanced flavor that was hard to enjoy.
For a coffee shop that prides itself on the quality of its brews, I was expecting much better. Proper machine maintenance and adherence to brewing standards are crucial in providing a delightful coffee experience. I hope higher management of Second Cup can address these issues to improve the quality of their offerings.
I returned the cappuccino, the barista offered me that he can add one more shot which I refused. I did not take the money back...
