You know it amazes me sometimes, when people express surprise and a lack of understanding as to why places donât get positive reviews. A friend of mine said, âa new Starbucks opened at avenue and Lawrence, but itâs really dead all the time and I donât know whyâ. I went there two days after it opened and had to have a drink remade which isnât the biggest deal In the world but I made a note that the staff werenât personable at all. Again, new store. I was passing by today, after driving by my usual one up the street which is almost ALWAYS buzzing (itâs because of the amazing staff), and again it was very slow for what you would expect on a Sunday morning. So I went in. The staff behind the counter were loudly chatting and joking with each other (not a bad thing), and then I approached the counter. 5 staff standing behind the counter, not 1 acknowledged I was there (clearly they needed to finish their gossip circle about being âso tiredâ) before they were willing to start serving people. I will not be returning ever. If you want an amazing experience, the way customer service SHOULD be done, just head a little north on Avenue and check in with Lahr, or Monica, or Karen, or Kara, I could go on. First off, be mindful of your customers that are paying $6 for a coffee that probably coated 2 cents to brew. This morning I did not have a mask so I covered my face with my sweater in hopes that after paying for over priced coffee I'd be entitled to a mask. This manager screams at me saying to wait outside and I asked her if I can just have a mask.. she told me to wait outside and they will SEE if they can bring me one. First off, I'm not a dog. So don't speak to me like one. Just because you have issues in your personal life doesn't mean you can project that. The blond asian cashier was very rude and does not have the attitude to work any service jobs. My family has lived in this neighbourhood for over 20 years, and this is the first time we've had a negative encounter in any of the local Starbucks locations.
When asking for decaf, it's common to be told we'll have to wait 5-10 min, which is completely fine. But this barista just said no decaf and to order an Americano instead (which my grandparents can't have due to the caffeine, hence the decaf order) and when my grandparents asked to confirm there's no decaf (because what coffee shop doesn't), he WAVED the empty pot at her face and said see, none. And no, there was no shortage of beans or something. He was just being rude.
Sad to see that this location hires these types of people after all...
