I used to love this location but I had a horrible experience yesterday. I always go to this location with my dog, and I always have thought Starbucks is pet friendly (not dogs inside but they are ok in the patio, they even have the puppyccino!) I always make my order using the app and when a little before it's ready I go to the door and ask them to add a puppyccino (you can't order that using the app) The stuff is always happy to help me, they even sometimes give my dog the puppyccino. They kindly help me bringing my order to the door which I appreciate. But yesterday there was a barista I haven't seen there before (Rita) and when I asked for the puppyccino she gave me a bad look. She approached to the door with attitude saying because my dog wasn't a service dog he couldn't be close to the store....which is a lie!! He can't be inside but he is allowed outside! On top of that she didn't bring the puppyccino so I asked about it and she said they were too busy to make it. I was in shock with that answer. I told her I could wait. As soon as she went back another barista came to the door and stayed there. No puppyccino. I thought that was weird because the other barista told me they were too busy but then they had one to just stand there. I asked her about my puppyccino and she didn't know I was waiting for it. I told her the other barista knew about it but she was clearly been rude and ignoring my order. She went, got my puppyccino and she was really nice. All it took her was less than a minute. Rita had me waiting for almost 10 minutes outside in the middle of winter because she simply was refusing to get me what I ordered. My latte was cold, my croissant was hard and cold as well....someone like that shouldn't be serving people. It was unbelievable and completely...
Read moreAs an avid Starbucks consumer I have to say that this location is a hit and miss when it comes to their service. Unlike their closest location on Bayview who’s customer service is always superb, this location seems to suffer from a lack of it. My previous visit to this location was a delight I was in and out within five minutes and the barista was in full control, he looked like bartender preparing cocktails at a busy bar.
However, today was a really bad experience, my wife, daughter and I all placed our order and my wife was very specific to mention that she wanted her latte with SOY milk, she told the girl at the counter twice, her name is Julianne and while she was friendly she seemed to lack the focus on us as she was interacting with her co-workers at the same time. Then we waited for our drinks for about 10 minutes because the only barista making drinks seemed to be a new one and he was really slow and a line was beginning to build. This is when Dranz joined as a second barista after hanging out in the back. And this was my main issue with the whole setup, there were probably 6 people behind the counter but only 2 of them were doing all the work, everyone else was hanging out. Finally we got our drinks only to realize that my wife’s latte was made with regular milk. She’s allergic to lactose, I returned the drink and the new barista kid tells me that I have to specify it in the order to which I reply my wife did, twice, so now the drink goes back to cue and we have to wait another 10 minutes at which point my wife was upset and got a refund and no drink. If you’re a manager at this location and you happen to read this, please get some discipline and structure into your team, this type of service is Not the typical...
Read moreI get it, this place can get busy, and there was quite the crowd waiting on pick up orders and orders placed in-store. I waited patiently in the background, and two out of the three items were ready for pick up. A lot of people were following up on their orders, some orders were done wrong, some orders were taking a long time. I, on the other hand, was just missing a pastry. I RESPECTFULLY asked, "when they have the chance" to check on the pastry. The young Asian lady with a ponytail was pressed, gave me a rude look of disgust and disrespectfully told me, that I'd have to walk to where the oven was to pick up my order. Mindblown, I thought to myself, are there TWO PICK UP LOCATIONS within this store? Not on brand of a Starbucks. That I'd have to go to where the oven was? That does not sound right to me.
The lady beside me (who was a complete stranger) told me to complain to customer services, but seriously, I did not want to go down that path because of a pastry. But my oh my, the attitude of this barista is probably not the attitude she said she has when working under pressure on her job interview.
Please coach your barista when working under pressure, especially when a customer is nice and can empathize with them. I wish her a good day.
