I have been going to this Starbucks for the last 9, almost 10 years, and I can comfortably say that it is by far the greatest Starbucks I've ever been to. The customer service is absolutely impeccable, as the staff quickly recognize familiar faces and engage in friendly rapport, adding to the already phenomenal atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling walls cover the West and North walls, allowing natural light to flow in, but also have blinds that the customers are allowed to use in order to control the light. Where there aren't windows, there are wonderful paintings, photos, and other artworks that cycle regularly, so kudos to whoever is the interior decorator. Living in Toronto, there are bound to be a few people who walk in and like to cause a ruckus, whether it be your run-of-the-mill Karens or anything of the sort, but the staff is impeccable at diffusing such situations, minimizing disturbances and complications. For some reason, it seems like this Starbucks has a lot of new menu items before the other Starbucks' in the area, as they constantly come around, offering free samples of different seasonal drinks and treats to the patrons. I can also comfortably say that I have never been told that the item that I wanted was out of stock, and this is coming from someone who comes from the earliest to the latest hours to this establishment. All-in-all, this Starbucks has impeccable service, atmosphere, menu, and overall good vibes. Fantastic work...
Read moreExtremely rude and bullying behaviour by one of the staff. For context, this is a huge starbucks that used to be a McDonalds or similarly large fast food business located in a massive plaza with parking for hundreds of cars. In this context, and with no other customers in the store, one of the staff was extremely rude and bullied my girlfriend repeatedly about standing in a "box" marked on the floor with tape, ostensibly for social distancing reasons. These appeared to be randomly scattered around a massive area that used to contain many tables and chairs. Standing in one would serve no purpose in the absence of other customers. There is a growing issue of some customer facing employees that seem to think their job is prison guard rather than barista or cashier or whatever. This employee and others like him should be fired or moved to the back of the house where they won't be able to abuse customers. We complained to the manager about his rudeness and bullying and was offered a free beverage as an apology. The experience made such a bad impression that we have been avoiding starbucks since, choosing Aroma, Dark Horse, Jimmy's, or independently owned shops whenever they...
Read moreI had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this Starbucks location. My friends and I made a quick stop to buy drinks and use the bathroom to freshen up. We purchased six drinks, but despite being paying customers, we were treated very differently by the staff. The tone and behavior toward us felt discriminatory and, quite frankly, racist.
One employee made a comment that we were “blocking customers from coming in,” even though we were just standing near the counter briefly and not causing any disruption. Another staff member started aggressively cleaning the table right in front of my face with disinfectant while I was sitting down, as if they assumed we were making the place dirty. It was disrespectful and completely uncalled for.
We felt unwelcome and targeted the entire time. No one should feel this way at any business, especially a brand like Starbucks that promotes inclusivity. I hope this location reflects on how their staff are treating customers and takes steps to ensure everyone is welcomed and treated...
