One of my favourite places for late-night crave. Authentic Asian fusion dessert place; everything tastes so good and melts in my mouth from starter to dessert. The food at this location comes out faster than the rest of the places I used to go, and I feel like it tastes more fresh & tasty than the rest.
Cons: quite small; we go nearly midnight but still need to wait to be seated
Mango roll supreme: 10/10, my go-to dish every time I go here; it was having a big chunk of fresh mango and tastes so good if you are dessert lover
Taiwan Honey Sausage: this is the first I try this, but I'm obsessed; it's pretty unique when you dip it in honey instead of salty sauce. It might be a little bit oily.
Japan popcorn chicken: 10/10, it must try if you go to any sugar marmalade location; this is one of their signature dishes.
Lychee black tea: can't wrap up your night without a drink, this is the 1st time I try this too but the drink was so good, the lychee taste was strong and mix with black tea flavour help to refresh and balance everything you ate for the whole night
Curry Fishball: 8/10 - not as tasty as usual but authentic Asia streetfood taste
Durian cheesy toast: you might not like this if you can't stand durian smell but overall pretty...
Read moreHonestly I like sugar marmalade, but this location is not the best... we ordered the chocolate egg waffle plate, and it said it would take 15 min but it came out in less than 5 mins...when we were eating, we noticed the waffle was stale and cold... it was also very hard to cut let alone chew. When i asked about it, the waitress told me " we have to cool the waffle down so that we can put icecream on the waffle" of course this doesn't make any sense to us because of how hard it was and it obviously wasn't made fresh.
We couldn't really eat the waffle (basically eating a rock) so I asked if we could just keep the toppings we have and have a new waffle so we didn't waste food. she said it was okay and made us a new waffle BUT she took our plate and threw out the perfectly good toppings because she probably didn't understand what we wanted. the toppings tasted great! it was only the waffle we had an issue with.
The attitude the staff showed us made us feel uncomfortable... we ordered 5 things and only 2 tasted good/warm and we only asked to fix one thing on the dish... there was no reason to show that much attidude.
maybe it's the area? maybe because it was late...? I didn't think it was fair to us as guest be shown so much disrespect, all I asked was for one thing... I probably won't be coming back again. and if the owners do care about their reviews the incident happened 11:30pm...
Read moreThe Sugar Marmalade is a cute, small dessert shoppe that a friend and I visited on a weekday evening. They had a variety of sweets like waffles, pudding, smoothies, and even small meals like squid balls! Sadly, the latter was out of stock, so I had ordered the Takoyaki balls, and my friend ordered the Oreo egg waffles. Ordering was done via QR code, with COVID protocols being in place. The employees there were present, actively engaging with the customers and assisted us in getting our orders through. The place wasn’t busy too, despite it being around 4PM at that time we arrived. The pricing was a bit on the higher end, but my order came exactly as pictured and the Takoyaki tasted great! My friend’s order also came out the same, and we finished all our food. There are washrooms available, and I loved how clean, organized, and nicely decorated the place was. Payment was fast and easy, and I managed to snatch a promotion in-store attached as a photo with this review. Overall, the Sugar Marmalade is a great café for socializing and dessert with friends. I highly suggest visiting this café once whenever you get the chance to, or if dropping...
