TacoTaco — Restaurant in Toronto

I came here when this place opened several years ago and really enjoyed it. I just went back for a second time.

This time, I ordered an Amsterdam blonde on draft, a very popular beer choice. The beer came out cloudy and was sour. One sip and I could feel my stomach turning, so I sent it back. Either the beer line needed a cleaning or the keg was old. Fine, that happens. I was offered different beers but I did not want to risk feeling sicker. Not off to a great start.

I ordered two birria tacos and they were good. Garnishes were nice but the tacos were a bit small for $6.50 each.

I went to go pay and saw a credit card surcharge of 2.7%. This was not told to me ahead of time and nowhere on the menu did I see this (may have been there but did not see). After feeling a bit sick from the beer and then seeing this, I was not impressed.

While service was good, there are so many other taco places in Kensington Market that offer better food and experiences. I suggest...

Cute place with decently priced drinks and tacos. We went in the afternoon to get some drinks and snacks and ended up ordering some beers, margaritas, and pina coladas. While it's advertised as happy hour in the afternoon, I don't think that applies to weekends as I calculated that I paid the full $12 for my margarita which isn't the end of the world. We ordered two loaded nachos with guac to share between 5 people, which was a perfect portion. For $12, the nachos were definitely worth it! The portion is reasonable and bigger than you'd expect for the price tag. The drinks were also good, my margarita was pretty strong. I think next time I'd go for one of the beers, the glass was massive.

Another important factor for us, TacoTaco has a decently sized patio and it is not busy compared to places around the area, meaning we didn't have to wait...

I recently held my 30th birthday party here and I couldn't have asked for a better night and celebration. Luan & the TacoTaco team are extremely flexible and reasonable, and genuinely care about making your even a memorable one! Everything was so seamless and smooth, from people arriving, to the music, ordering drinks, and constantly having food for our guests! The catering options they have available are very affordable and the rental fees are fantastic compared to other places. The space is colourful and decorated in such a fun way. It was exactly what I had hoped for. They also provided security at the door which made me feel secure at my party. The food was fantastic, drinks were tasty, and the staff are so friendly.
