The Bagel House — Restaurant in Toronto

Premium price for the WORST bagels I have ever had. I went there on a Wed and got a smoked meat sandwich which was super disappointing (way too much mustard and not your typical deli-sized portion of meat), but I figured that I didn't have the freshest bagel. Despite my mediocre experience I asked when they bake and when they open. Based on this, I said I'd be back on Friday morning to get a dozen FRESH bagels. I also got a pretzel from the showcase. I didn't check the bagels until I was too far to go back. They were hard as rocks. Two were totally smashed in on one side and the two cinnamon & raison ones were burned/over-baked. I couldn't even bite into the pretzel. Surely the lady behind the counter had to have known (just by the feel of the product) that she was serving stale product. Even after "sawing" them open, they felt and tasted too dense, dry and stale....

Horrible experience here at the bagel house on Yonge Street. I ordered an egg salad sandwich that’s supposed to have tomato and lettuce on it with nothing stating otherwise I ordered my sandwich and the eggs were completely cold. Tasted awful and did not have lettuce or tomato on it instead of telling me to wait and correct my order or get me a new bagel she told me I was out of luck , I didn’t even take the sandwich. I left it because of how garbage the customer service was. My father is an owner of a big real estate company and we are sending out 2000 emails today To all of our clients explaining this experience so maybe you guys won’t make them the same Mistake and go to this bagel house, when mistakes happen like such it’s very important to treat your customer as well and this location does not do that whatsoever. I had a horrible experience here and I will never come...

I would like to preface this review by stating that my friend and I have been to many bagel houses and enjoyed our time there, this was not one of the enjoyable times. Upon entry we were greeted with one worker. He took our orders begrudgingly. I ordered a lox with cream cheese onions and capers on a plain bagel. My friend ordered a bagel with cream cheese. Both of the items we have gotten a number of times. My friend usually licks her plate clean, but this time she couldn’t even bear to eat half her bagel. My bagel usually has capers and onions on it. There were none on these on the order. In addition to this both bagels were not toasted adequately. Needless to say, we would rather starve than ingest one of those cold and disgusting bagels...
