I have been a customer here for a while now, doing pick ups almost on a weekly basis. The empanadas are good but the customer service during my last visit was unacceptable. I placed an order on the phone and came to pick it up exactly on time for when I said I would be there. When I got there I tried to pay using Apple Pay but they informed me that they do not accept it, so I said give me a minute so I could grab my wallet from my car parked out front and the Caucasian man with blonde hair and blue eyes at the cash gave me a lot of attitude and said “are you kidding me, Jesus” and made me feel like very much like a bother when I am a loyal customer and I was not late for the pickup. It made me feel very unwelcome and question how my food would be handled given how bothered the cashier was over such a minor inconvenience. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me that he was the manager, and refused to apologize or resolve the issue when I brought up that I felt disrespected. I don’t feel I can trust this place anymore and would no longer recommend it...
Read moreI just liked the pastry and chimichurri sauce! When reading through the menu I couldn’t wrap my head around the fusion ones. The options with creamy sauces inside an empanada sounded extremely off putting but probably tastes delicious to the western culture. I got both their beef options, braised beef and traditional. Braised beef flavour was good but I WISHED there was more chunks of meat inside. That was the make or break deal for my partner and unfortunately due to that reason we haven’t returned. First impressions are everything for him. It was slow cooked beef that became this ground up texture because it was really soft. I kind of wanted a chunkier beef that would fall and pull apart.. It was not it. The traditional had a chunkier beef, but wow as soon as I bit it, I tasted Taco Bell. It’s EXACTLY that flavour of the Taco Bell hot sauce. If you did a side by side you’d not know the difference. Maybe it’s good for some people but it wasn’t outstanding for me. I’d say give them a chance and maybe you’ll find something you...
Read morePricy! - $4.00+tax ea! But luckily we found their $16.00 on dine-in or take-out Groupon deal (they will charge tax on the Groupon value at the store - keeping in mind they do not accept tap... something they should consider having amongst COVID times). Their empanada fillings are really flavourful and unique. They offer a good variety of empanada flavours (more selection in their contemporary menu vs traditional). My favourite so far is their Seafood Empanada whereas my bf's favourite is their Braised Beef Short Ribs Empanada. The pastry was pretty basic imo despite offering different kinds. Unfortunately their Cajun Pulled Pork was sold out but for a empanada specialty store with a limited menu, you'd think they'd be in stock.. A tiny store with only roadside parking available - though there is a tiny lot across the restaurant but not sure if you could park there... Ordered ahead for pick-up and food was prepared on time. The service here isn't the greatest... cashier did not care for our business and was not happy...
