The Host is a charming Indian cuisine restaurant that offers an inviting dining experience, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. Located in the heart of the city, the restaurant offers a warm and welcoming ambiance with its contemporary yet traditional décor, featuring vibrant colors and soft lighting. As you step in, the fragrance of aromatic spices fills the air, hinting at the delicious culinary adventure that awaits.

The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of Indian dishes from various regions of the country. Whether you're in the mood for the rich, creamy flavors of North India or the bold, spicy dishes from the South, The Host delivers on all fronts. The starters, such as crispy samosas and flavorful pakoras, set the tone for the meal, and the mains do not disappoint. The butter chicken is a standout dish, with its smooth, velvety gravy and tender chicken, while the biryani is a fragrant, perfectly spiced rice dish that's sure to please. Vegetarians will find plenty of choices, from paneer tikka to the hearty dal makhani, all cooked to perfection.

One of the restaurant’s strongest suits is its attentive and knowledgeable staff. The waiters are eager to help navigate the extensive menu and provide excellent recommendations based on preferences. The service is prompt, yet unhurried, allowing diners to enjoy their meal at a relaxed pace.

For dessert, the classic gulab jamun and the refreshing rasgula are a delightful way to end the meal, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and flavor.

Overall, the host offers an authentic taste of Indian cuisine with high-quality ingredients and impeccable service. Whether you're a long-time lover of Indian food or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is sure to provide an unforgettable dining experience.

I was craving some delicious Indian food (and didn’t feel like making my own) so I thought I’d return to one of best places in Toronto for authentic Indian cuisine. It’s been a while since I’ve been here and they now have a new location! They have a great menu with something for everyone including vegetarian and non veg options. Perhaps one of their more notable dishes is pictured here, the butter chicken - It still tastes the same as I remember! That being said, I myself like more of a creamy and very spicy sauce rather than a tomato heavy sauce, but I just ‘modified’ it to my own liking when I got home. Another great (and healthy) dish is the tadka daal or lentil dish; again, I’m used to eating very spicy food so I amped up the spice and also added some freshly squeezed lemon and coriander over top, as we Indians often do for this type of daal/lentil dish, trust me, these make all the difference! This is a wonderful and long standing establishment in Toronto with various locations in the GTA and now more options with @mantradonmills @hostrestaurants @bhaiscanteen @sanjeevmasalacompany ! The only FYI to all, the restaurant closes at 3pm and reopens at 4 several days of the week, so keep this in mind when ordering as if you order for 4pm let’s say and expect it at that time, you’ll have to wait for them to start preparing it after they open at 4. This is also a heads up for delivery services as today while I was there a driver encountered this very issue expecting to pick it up at 4, only to find that it had not yet been prepared which made him late for this delivery and ones thereafter. It may be helpful to put a notice on your website as to the time you’ll accept a last order before you close, and similarly, you may wish to change the first pickup/delivery time to 4:15. Just some helpful...

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at The Host Fine Indian Cuisine in Toronto, where I indulged in an extraordinary buffet experience. From the moment I stepped into the elegantly designed restaurant, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that seamlessly blended modern sophistication with the rich cultural heritage of India.

The buffet itself was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The array of dishes was impressive, showcasing the culinary prowess of the chef, who is clearly a master of his craft. Each dish was meticulously prepared, bursting with vibrant flavors and aromas that transported me straight to the heart of India. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tender and perfectly spiced, while the Saag Paneer was a delightful blend of creamy spinach and soft, flavorful paneer. The variety of freshly baked naan and the delicate balance of spices in the biryani further highlighted the chef’s attention to detail and commitment to authenticity.

But what truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that each guest felt welcomed and cared for. The service was swift yet unhurried, allowing me to savor each bite while never feeling rushed. The servers were not only efficient but also warm and personable, creating a dining experience that was as much about the human connection as it was about the food.

The Host Fine Indian Cuisine has truly set a high standard for Indian dining in Toronto. The chef’s dedication to his craft and the exceptional service provided by the staff make this restaurant a standout choice for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable culinary experience. I look forward to my next visit, knowing that it will be just as delightful and...

Top-tier Indian cuisine. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in North America. A must visit if you like Indian food and are in the GTA. The biriyani and butter chicken here are exceptionally good. --- Downtown location is nice and secluded, the patio is spacious and elevated from street level which is a rarity among patiod restaurants. Tables are nice and spaced out for privacy. And the lighting is mellow. Service and quality are on par with the Markham location. The menus, tables, seating surfaces, cutlery, dishes, are all spotless-immaculate. The Host is peak Indian restaurant experience in Canada. I have been coming here for years and they are the gold medalists of Indian food. All the curry dishes, the biriyanis, and the breads are top notch. Butter Chicken: The Host is legendary for its butter chicken. Deep butter, tomato, and chicken taste. Very different from the balti style and fast food style butter chicken. Lamb biriyani: awesome Rajasthaani Lamb: This is a deep, rich curry dish with bone in lamb pieces. This is classic curry. Thick, full bodied curry with a garlic-ginger base and meaty aftertaste. See the pics.

I’m honestly shocked at how bad my experience was at this place. I ordered chicken 65 for $16.95 plus taxes, and for that price, I expected a decent portion and at least some decent flavor. What I got was a ridiculously small serving, and the taste was horrendous—bland, underseasoned, and honestly, it felt like they couldn’t be bothered to put any effort into making it taste good. But the food was just the tip of the iceberg. I went in for a pickup order, and not once did anyone acknowledge me. No “hi,” no “thank you,” nothing. When i said thank you, there was no response.. The staff acted like I wasn’t even there, which is beyond disappointing. For a business in the hospitality industry, this is shameful. It’s not like I was expecting them to roll out the red carpet, but a basic level of courtesy is expected. Apparently, that’s too much to ask for here. If you're looking for good food, decent portions, and any kind of customer service, avoid this place like the plague. It’s a total waste of money, and I’ll never be coming back.
