We really like this place for take out. We love that it's open a bit later than some of the other nearby restaurants that we frequent. But The Lime CONTINUES to disappoint us when we dine in. The service consists of someone bringing you your drinks and meal to the table and that's IT!!!
There's never a check in to see how things are going. Two place settings for three people, I had to get a third setting off a nearby table. Would have LOVED a second beer and top up on our waters. Had to get up and ask for plates as we were (clearly) sharing entrees. She gave us the tiniest little side plates. I had to ask for the bill.
She stood behind the counter scrolling on her phone the ENTIRE time we ate and needed "service". But certainly wasn't shy about getting to the "tip" screen on the credit card machine.
Again, food is great. Hours are convenient. Do yourself a favour and do take-away only. Don't let the in-restaurant experience shouldn't take away from the quality of the food.
UPDATE: They've changed their "to go" containers to laminated cardboard bowls. And they are NOT appropriate for any soup options. I live two blocks away and the bottom of the bag was soaked and shredded by the time I got home with dinner (see photo). The bowl leaked the entire time my partner ate his pho. Don't know what to tell you, dine in and the servive will disappoint, take-away and you'll be paying for pho that ends up everywhere but your stomache. And yes, they know, she told me to hold the bottom of the bag when I left the restaurant...
Read moreUnfortunately my experience w takeout from this place was terrible both times . As if they threw in everything from the kitchen into there shrimp rice except shrimp . For the price I expected a much fresher, authentic rice . Also the monday special was a xl noodle w chicken, again the same ingredients as rice and very sticky and mushy . The rice was very very old I got a ball of hard rice in a bite that was def sitting more then over night . Those 2 dishes were given to me in maybe 6 min and I paid 42.00 tax incl . Can anyone else relate ? The first time I was given 2 wrong dishes and 2 chicken soups instead of wonton. Out of the 4 plus 2 soups that I ordered 3 of them were burnt and was all it tasted like . The beef veg dish was extremely greasy and stems onky from brocoli and a literal half of a smal onion along w other wedges of sliced onion . I wanted to try again to give them the benefit of maybe having an off day . The dishes should at the very least have the same ingredients each time and after a certain time discard food that's been sitting around your kitchen don't risk your business by potentially making your customers sick . I def can say I have no faith in this food getting any better when there's no talent or integrity in your company . Sad to say when in the neighborhood it's mainly franchises ,would be nice to have authentic...
Read moreI chose this place based on its 4.7 rating on Google. The restaurant offers a free drink for reviews placed in the restaurant. There is a sticker on every table, which feels like they're paying for positive feedback.
When we arrived, we were told to sit anywhere we want. We chose the only open booth. The waitress told us the table was dirty and we could not sit there. I asked how long it would take to clean the booth and she seemed reluctant to have us sit there and suggested a table. Later while eating our food we noticed the waitress actually sat down in the booth herself to have a meal. I mean this was more funny than anything but it would seem this table did not need cleaning after all.
There are a few bad reviews that say the food is bland and I honestly found the same. As you can see the tables are absent of any condiments ... no siracha, no hoisin sauce, no chili peppers. Just empty tables with one napkin, a fork and chopsticks. very lacklustre. Pretty much the same experience at Wendy's next-door.
Was an average experience and not reflective of the 4.7 rating...
