As someone with family from Hong Kong, I always look forward to anything listed as "Hong Kong cuisine" or "Hong Kong Street Food." So I was very excited to see a small portion of the menu advertise HK food.
Appetizers. I wasn't really too thrilled about the chungfun, which tasted like it was the frozen store bought ones. While I understand that restaurants can't always hand make them, I was a bit disappointed seeing as how at the time it was $9. The shrimps were similarly pretty expensive considering how tiny they were and how much came in a serving. Though the little scale it came in was cute.
Main dish. Though I wasn't thrilled by the appetizers, the main dish was absolutely delicious! It was listed as a bread bowl with the option of spaghetti or rice filling the inside with curry chicken cutlets. I chose rice and it was all nice and crispy at the bottom. The dish took on more of a mild Japanese curry flavour than a spicy Chinese dish, making tearing apart the bread and dunking it into the curry boat container very enjoyable. There was a pretty large helping of cheese and maybe a whole chicken cutlet hidden beneath the top cut into pieces. It tasted good and is def worth a try!
Drinks and dessert. I got the adorable bear drink (because why not) and the milk bunnies. Just as a heads up, the one I got was incorrectly labeled as milk tea with lemon for some reason, but I assure you there's no milk in it! Just delicious lemon tea with (presumably black tea) and a cute little bear. While the frozen tea bear is super cute and I loved that it didn't dilute the drink too much, it definitely got in the way of enjoying my drink until I gave in and used a straw. And lastly, the bunnies. They were super delicious and something I would definitely order again! They aren't too sweet and go well with the powdered pile (which I think is some sort of sweetened breading) very well....

You can order your food by simply scanning a QR code which takes you to a website where you can just input your order directly. You don't even need to call a server over to take your order, making this system much quicker and more efficient.
My friend and I were already impressed with the ordering system, and then we were further blown away with the speed of their service. We got our first orders probably in under 5 mins of us placing them. Then the rest of our orders came in short intervals as well! We weren't even finished taking pictures of our previous dish and the next one was already on its way. With regards to the food itself, I ordered Okonomiyaki Fries, the Japanese style Curry Cream & Garlic udon w/ Tempura paired with Ice Honey Chrysanthemum Rose tea. while I personally thought the portion size to be average, if not a bit small. After eating, I quickly changed my mind, as I was already stuffed after eating one dish.
I am not a big fan of udon but decided to give Maby Generations'Japanese style Curry Cream & Garlic udon w/ Tempura a chance and I'm glad I did! I couldn't stop eating after one bite. The udon noodles were soft and chewy while the curry cream and garlic were extremely savoury and delicious as well as perfect for dipping the Tempura shrimp in!
Didn't get to eat too much of the okonomiyaki fries as I was already full from stuffing my face with curry udon but from what I had, I enjoyed it a lot.
The Ice Honey Chrysanthemum tea tastes as good as it looks! It was a nice refreshing beverage that was not too sweet with some floral notes and paired nicely with the savory foods.
I just don't recommend that you come during peak hours (eg. During the dinner rush) or else you may have to eat a bit quicker to accommodate other guests due to...
Read moreThis place has all to satisfy one's Taiwanese/Chinese food & beverage cravings. They have hot pots, rice meals, cheese tarts, and milk teas.
To sample a good variety of what they have to offer for the main meal, we ordered the Sukiyaki Hot Pot w/ Udon ($18.99) and the Creamy Alfredo Mushroom Chicken in Bowl ($12.99).
The hot pot came out really delectable with its cornucopia of fresh ingredients and its highly flavourful broth. Its serving size is a little too much for sharing for 2 people, but will still just be fine to split among 3 people. Next is the Creamy Alfredo Mushroom Chicken Bowl which was such a delight to eat. The hard crusty exterior serves well to house the creamy and cheesy filling inside. It is best to consume it while still piping hot to warm.
The dessert we tried was the Okkaido Molten Cheese Tart which came in 2 pieces per order of $12.99. Presentation was good, but the portion size was a little disappointing for the price.
Lastly to round up everything, we flushed down all we ate with drink orders of Mango Milk Snow Shake, and Dajia Taro Milk each costing $7.99. The Mango Milk Shake was such a treat to drink because of the popping bobas, but the Taiwan Dajia Taro, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming.
What negative I have to say is that the space and elbow room is a bit lacking. Hard to fit all the orders in the table for 2 people. If anyone orders the Hotpot then that will already fill up a significant portion of the tabletop. We had to let the waiter delay serving our dessert order because of the cramped space we have.
Despite all, I would greatly recommend this place. The food presentation are excellent as well are the service. The wallpaper design and the tags & signs hung on the wall, also gives the location character to give that...
