Decided to give it a try after seeing the menu from outside. I guess if I had never had a decent Wagyu burger before, I'd probably think this one was good. It's not the case. While the burger is well done, taste fresh, it is far from what a Wagyu burger should taste like. We all know that Wagyu is expensive so I wasn't surprised when it didn't taste like that at all . Only they know what ratio they use for that patty and while it's ok, if you're telling people you're using a prime blend, please make sure you deliver it. It's still a tasty burger but not Wagyu tasty. The store seems to be family owned and it was empty when I was there, except by the owners. Received a very dry greeting from one of owners (I assume the son) . That guy could definitely use with some sale techniques. The atmosphere is fine, but not enough for you to feel welcomed. Since I didn't feel like staying there , I asked my burger to go. A lady who I assume is the mother, barely looked at me after my request. She prepared the take out bag, no napkins, no condiments, no cutlery, not a single question if I needed anything else. The guy making the burger is probably the only friendly asset they have and after she walked out, he handed my bag with a nice smile and was the only one who replied to my have a great as I left the store. Some people rely way too much on their products and disregard the importance of warm and great customer service. Would I go back to Kensington to have that burger again ? Thanks,...
Read moreI visited Ugly Delicious on Friday, March 21, and let me tell you—this place is anything but delicious. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was disgusting. Both a male and female employee working the front seemed like they had no clue what they were doing and even less interest in helping customers.
I ordered a burger, hoping for a decent meal, but the entire experience was ruined by the staff’s attitude. At one point, I went to the restroom, and my friend told me that one of the cashiers just dropped our food on the table and walked away—no greeting, no “enjoy your meal,” nothing. Basic manners? Nonexistent.
Then, when my friend and I politely asked for more seasoning on the patty, the staff acted completely clueless—as if we were speaking another language. It was obvious they had no idea what they were doing. And to make matters worse, the supervisor seemed annoyed that we even asked! Apparently, expecting a properly seasoned burger is too much for this place. They only season one side of the patty—what kind of nonsense is that?!
As someone who works in front-of-house customer service, I know this level of service is beyond unacceptable. If you can’t train your staff to treat customers with basic respect, why even be in business? I will NEVER step foot in this place again. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values...
Read moreSmash it, melt it, sauce it up! Ugly Delicious is flipping the burger game on its head with an unapologetically bold menu that’s loud, greasy (in the best way), and downright addictive.
We posted up on their outdoor patio: perfect for sunny days, people-watching, and catching the game, and got into some serious comfort food mode.
The Wagyu SmashBurger was a heavyweight champion: juicy, griddled-to-perfection wagyu beef, melty American cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and their signature Ugly Sauce, all stacked in a soft, toasted bun. It’s everything you want in a smashburger and then some.
The Wagyu Chopped Cheese Wrap delivered on flavour and nostalgia. Think NYC bodega vibes with a gourmet upgrade - beefy, cheesy, crispy, and messy in the best possible way.
But don’t sleep on the Ugly Fries: loaded with chopped wagyu patty, melted cheese, smashed onions, and sauce, topped with fresh chives. They were rich, indulgent, and impossible to stop eating.
Everything here is made with a signature blend of HALAL, hand-slaughtered Australian Wagyu and premium AAA beef, delivered and ground fresh daily, and it shows.
