Excellent food and customer service! Hands down no questions asked. However, I would like to note an important observation. The owner was outgoing, passionate and outspoken- all great qualities of an entrepreneur. The employee presenting my options looked a bit intimidated when the owner corrected her mistakes and had a quick moment of reaction to something the employee did incorrectly. Well, we're all human and we're all likely to react under stress. What may be important to note is that this interaction may be perceived differently by customers. Some customers may not care but others like myself may feel a bit put-off my the whole experience. Perhaps, supportive leadership as opposed to directive leadership would probably be more beneficial in the way the employee is treated/trained? In all fairness, this small interaction between the owner and the employee was observed during my 10-minutes of ordering food at the Food Shop. So, I wouldn't make any assumptions about either of them without knowing the whole story. Soggy unflavored rice with tasteless dry chicken.. this is not a lunch that will fuel my work day.. every day we get urban fare just another disappointment and a day I go hungry May 12th Update - After several weeks of mediocre foods from Urban Fare and keeping my opinion to myself as my first review was sent the craft services staff and I was told to inform them about issues with the food. Today we were once again offered poor quality food and our staff called to let them know, they were told our employees don't know what good food is and then they cancelled our 3pm order, which is the way all good companies that ( to quote them directly )"very rarely get complaints and take them all seriously" typically react to valid criticism. so from being just a bad spot for catering they are also hyper critical of reviews and totally stuck in a state of denial with their food. Read moreIt was my daughter’s wedding on February 2nd 2022 and with Covid restrictions we were only allowed 10 people. It was a very small and intimate wedding. I spoke with Angela at Urban Fare and she made room temperature recommendations which would have no fuss, no muss, no heating, no plating. The food arrived, beautifully arranged on platters. The delicious beef tenderloin was perfectly sliced & grilled to medium rare with a homemade spicy horseradish cream, the Hors D’oeuvres were great and inventive for example tasty key lime coconut chicken crepes. We also had an antipasto platter, a Thai taster platter, and a euro dipping platter along with fresh fruit and a decadent sweet tray filled with mini pastries, macaroons, cookies - perfect for my sweet tooth husband.
