Take a seat, this is going to be a great review ❤️
I decided to stop somewhere new today after work to grab a bite to eat. From the moment I opened the door I felt like I was somewhere far, far away.
The big spacious window accompanied with vintage seating is what prompted me to whip my phone out before I even looked at the menu. Tucked away just shy of the Lawrence manor community this gem of a restaurant blew me away with its authentic decor. The hanging plants and indor patio lights were a bonus!
The staff were so warm and welcoming that I got distracted with conversation and I didn't even notice 20 mins had gone by before I checked the time. I ordered a simple burger with fries and let me let you I was not ready for all of that succulent flavour! My crispy fries were cooked perfectly and actually reminded me of a spot I used to go to as a teen. Very nostalgic!
Notable features would be a cafe station, a bar, televisions and all day breakfast. My meal was great, and I'll be back with a friend 💕
Thank you so much for...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Yummy Tummy based on reviews. The place is clean, and welcoming, but the music was way too loud, and we had to ask for it to be lowered (no, we're not old fogeys, it was just really loud).
I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and while the meat and bread were fantastic, for some strange reason, the cook put raw uncooked onions and LARGE chunks of green peppers on the hot sandwich. Anyone who's had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich knows that both need to be cooked, and you can't put giant chunky size pieces of green peppers on it. So, it was "okaaaay", but that small detail just left the sandwich lacking.
Would I visit again? If I had no other choices, sure. But it's unlikely both because it's not a part of town I'm often in, and if I were, I'd find another establishment to try, given this one couldn't accomplish the basics.
I will say that the service was very friendly and helpful, just sucks that the sandwich was...
Read moreThis place is the classic dive bar/burger spot. It was mostly our mistake to go for brunch, to be fair, but still, I cannot recommend this spot. I ordered some kind of spicy french fry dish with peppers that sounded great but turned out to basically be a poutine. This was not clear on the menu, no mention of cheese or gravy, so I was quite disappointed. My girlfriend who actually likes poutines didn't want it. There were drunks arguing with each other at 1pm on a Sunday. The waitress was very nice and kind but she forgot some of our orders specifics and either way, my friend's steak was well done when he asked for rare. My samosas were the worst I've ever had.
The decor is nice and chill, it seems like a great spot to have a few beers and maybe if I had just had a burger and fries I would have liked the food but I would...
