We went in and ordered a Jac's burger (no mustard with fried onions) and a B.L.T.C. w/ fries and coleslaw. Everything was fine. Up until we drove 40 min getting home, open our food and the burger had purple onions (not fried) and mustard đ also I got a clubhouse sandwich(not a B.L.T.) the words don't even sound the same! We got in touch with the lady working this afternoon and explained the situation. She told us, "She wasn't there, bring the food and get a refund." He took the food down, and she refused to refund the clubhouse because of it being written down as "clubhouse" (therefore, in their opinion, that is what was ordered! Even after already explaining this to her on the phone! She was rude the whole time as if WE were wrong and trying to get free food! Why would anyone return all of their food in order to receive free food later on! Make it make sense! On top of this, the cook chest bumped him after the transaction in whatever argument they were putting out to make it as if we were in the wrong. They threatened to call police. However, he called already, and police came and sided with the restaurant even though he was assaulted during this transaction. The police kicked him off property and was ppa'd as well as being threatened to be towed and put in jail. On top of them coming and parking by him and making him move numerous times, trying to text his patience so they could have something exciting in their boring careers to laugh over doughnuts đ© and coffee! Needless to say, this tops ALL bad experiences as a customer I (he) have ever endured, and we have had our share! Considering it is extremely hard to find regular good customer service, much less exceptional customer service! This was our first and ONLY/LAST experience with Jac's burgers and shakes! Which is sad because we like to explore and try new places all of the time! Not only will we never recommend this place, but we would never want to go back to it! They certainly will not be getting...
Read moreWe would have loved to give this restaurant more than 1 star, however we couldn't enjoy any part of it, because we unfortunately dealt with an extremely unprofessional and rude customer service situation.
My mother in law has an approved service dog for a diagnosed medical condition. We have never run into issues with it until today. She has NEVER been given such a hard time and questioned from a restaurant.
We were greeted by a staff member who said she needed to check with the owner before we could continue to our table. We were then asked to provide a service dog card to further back her medical approval, which we did. And yet, she was still questioned on what the dog's purpose was for, and corrected that "No that's not a service dog. It's therapeutic." Medical conditions are completely private and to be questioned on it or her purpose for the service dog was unbelievably disrespectful.
Furthermore the owner said to my father in law. "Get IT out of here(Their dog).I have to call the health inspector to verify your card is legit." Too many people are buying those leashes off of Amazon." Wow. What a degrading and completely embarrassing situation.
Furthermore, she separated the dog from my my mother in law by asking the dog be removed while they had to call for verification of her card. How is this right?!
Needless to say, we couldn't get out of that restaurant fast enough. We chose to leave because we honestly felt completely unwelcome and that we were making up her situation. There is a professional way to to politely ask people if you can check for verification , without being rude and condescending. It was...
Read moreWe've eaten at Jac's a few times over the years and it's been 'okay'.
We've tried their breakfast and burgers:
The breakfast wasn't very good - hash brown mix was terrible. Greasy was the flavor and texture The burgers are overrated - they aren't really any different than a burger anywhere else Fries are homemade but they're not crispy but greasy, dark and floppy
The service was great and the atmosphere is a nice-kind of different.
If it weren't for the disappointing food and lack of GF options, we maybe would have returned.
However, even if things were to improve, I wouldn't trust the owners management skills after publicly and falsely defaming other local businesses with lies upon lies and using their business social media to socialize it.
Their customers, friends, and family attacked this business and left false reviews, left hateful, and life threatening comments to discredit this business.
However, once the other business shared video proof of the lie, all the defamation posts on their social media were deleted..
**Updated to add - This review was posted following the event I refer to in my review (like a year ago). I'm not sure why they opted to respond to it now.. that said, the way the owner dealt with that issue was irresponsible back then and it's the primary reason I will not return and support this business as many...
