Spice Hut Indian Cuisine. — Restaurant in Town of Sylvan Lake

After driving past Spice Hut for a couple of years, we finally decided to stop in for dinner last night. Our only negative was - WHY DID WE WAIT THIS LONG TO TRY IT?!? Spice Hut in Sylvan was the best Indian Cuisine we have had to date. It was the best food from a “restaurant” that we have had in a really long time. While some restaurants seem to be cutting back to save costs, Spice Hut is giving it their all. The food was absolutely FANTASTIC! Every dish was cooked to our spice level tolerance, it came quickly and was so flavourful. We couldn't get enough of it. The team was very attentive, and even suggested some new items that we hadn't tried before. The Veggie Pakora was wonderful and a new addition to our orders moving forward. We couldn't have asked for a better meal. We will forever be their loyal customers it was that good. If you’re wavering on trying this restaurant, don’t. You wont regret it. We have left overs from last night that my husband almost ate for breakfast bc he didn't want to wait for dinner tonight to enjoy the food from Spice Hut.

My family and I went here to have a dinner to celebrate our youngest daughter's birthday. I have a condition where I cannot eat seeds. Now I knew there may be seeds present in some foods at this restaurant. As I was ordering, I informed the server that I cannot have seeds in my meal. She said she had to go and check with the kitchen to make sure that this was ok. She came back, and said, "they will do it this time, but do not expect this to happen every time". Wow........ Ok I said, all good. We ordered, we ate. Food was good. But with that remark from the server still in my head, it was not an enjoyable time. My family was completely speechless when they heard the server say this. So was I. Meal complete. My family left to the car, I stayed to pay and to talk the another server about our experience. She turned out to be the owner/manager. She was very apologetic. I dont know for sure if this rather uncomfortable comment came from the kitchen or just from the server. But, as I was told to "not expect it every time", rest assured Spice Hut, do not expect...

The space is too dark making it difficult to even read the menu. They had a mop lying out front near main desk which was extremely stinky and hence did not feel good vibes the whole time at the restaurant, hence the 1 star. The food was not at par as well, chai was too watery, not worth it, I can make better myself. The pakoras were not authentic at all, they were onion pakoras that we ordered but it had lots of cabbage instead. Did not meet expectations at all. We were visiting the town for the long weekend, so thought we’d try. It was all empty as well, except for 1 other table. After we got our food, the server was lost the whole time, not even checked in once if everything was good or if we needed something, I had to call her from the back, after waiting for 5 minutes, to get tissues and even when I had to pay.
