Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Township of Langley

We live nearby and often come here for ice cream as my kids love it. Today, on Sunday, Feb 4th, we came here with other friends who have never tried this place before. The service was slow, 2 girls were working. (2pm) The girl that was making my ice cream totally missed most of the ingredients:(((( I saw it when I got my cone. when I asked her if she put chocolate fudge syrup in it, she said no, then I asked if she put marshmallows, she said no…. I told her but they were supposed to be in my ice cream? She said yes. I was starting to get really angry, she didn’t say sorry or even tried to be nice. Just plain no and yes. Another girl stepped in, she said sorry and added some syrup on top of my ice cream. However, it was just a smallest tiny drop( not a drizzle 🤣) def not what I was hoping for and what the picture shows. My ice cream was missing chocolate bits, marshmallows and the syrop. Everyone makes mistakes and gets things wrong sometimes, I have no problem with it. But the girl was very unprofessional. It’s not a cheap ice cream and I would expect more for the money. Customer service wise. As we were leaving, my husband used the bathroom after one of the employes, he said that she didn’t even flush the toilet and he didn’t think she washed her hands either. My husband owns a fast food restaurant and he thought it was gross. It’s just disappointing to see. Especially the lack the customer service. I don’t know what happened in the bathroom, I wasn’t there, but I know that we waited for a long time to order our ice creams and eventually mine was done completely wrong with no proper acknowledgement from the staff. I didn’t want to cause a fuss at the restaurant because we were with our friends who are super sweet and were excited to try a new place as their kids are big fans of ice cream too. Floors under tables were littered with crumbs even though I was the only customer when I arrived and for a few minutes afterward. The server was busy making more waffles even though the wall was full of waffle cones and bowls already. The place became really busy even though it was Monday after 8 pm. The server encouraged me to get a premade tub of ice cream instead of a custom tub without mix-ins because about six people were waiting in line behind me. The 1-litre of cheesecake flavoured ice cream tasted flavorless, and costed $16.99, which is only $1 and change less than a custom 1-litre. Right after the receipt printed out, she crumpled it up and trashed it. And right after that, I asked for a copy of the receipt. She reacted saying that she just threw it in the garbage. Why print a receipt to just throw it in the garbage without asking if the customer would like it? At least she picked it out and crumpled it when I asked if she could print another copy. At our request, she added topping in the area that I ate from once the lineup was gone, but she touched the ice cream from where I had eaten with the ladle, so hopefully no remainder of the topping will be served to anyone else because that would be unsanitary. At least the serving container sounded pretty empty. Now I'm stuck with 1 litre of flavourless ice cream with only a few tiny ladles full of raspberry toppings. Tonight we went to marble slab Langley! Normally drive to Coquitlam but I can always count on this location to have special cones. Tonight they had one girl working who was super positive and so precise with ice cream building and mixing. We had almost ten people in front of us and she served everyone with a smile! Our cones were both made perfectly and super yummy! The only downside I could say is if I am being honest, I wish the cones were a bit fresher. I noticed some were burnt, mistakes happen but it’s easy to tell they are also a bit stale. When you’re paying that extra $ for a special cone it’s nice to have a good one. But I will add it is nice to have the plenty of supply of cones to pick from! Will come back again!...
