I been seeing this place all over instagram... If there's a lot of hype, I had to try it out for myself.. Since Beard Papa's on Robson was a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR disappointment (not even going to bother writing about it but you can read all about it on tripadvisor, I had to go here before leaving Vancouver to make up for it..
"V-STAR" Rating:
VARIETY: 7/10 - You get drinks. Shaved ice in a fruit or Fruity Ice Pots. I think there were a few other selections like waffles .. but yeah just you basic dessert items.
SERVICE : 8/10 - The staff is nice... Left us alone and didn't bother us.. Dessert and drinks came fast since we were the first and only customers ...... LOL She clearly saw we were done our food but she still went to the back to chitchat so we were standing at the cashier for awhile .. until I said, "excuse me" but I don't think she still heard me.. lol.
TASTE: 7.5/10 - Let's start with the bad. We ordered 2 roasted oolong milk tea with pearls. The pearls were disgusting.. They were so hard and bland to the max. The Roasted oolong milk tea was bland as well. It did not taste roasted at all... If you were to compare this drink with the one at Cha Time, then Cha Time beats it by 10x.. Actually, I don't think it's even comparable because it was that bad. lol. HOWEVER......... Their mango ice pot was really goood!! It was cool how they added the icey smoke thing under the pot of shaved ice and some mangos. They added condensed milk and mangos on the side and ice cream. You get quite a bit for 10 bucks! I would say you get your 'bang for the buck' when you buy the ice pots.
ATMOSPHERE: 8/10 - Cute decorations throughout the cafe. We came right when it opened without knowing it opens at 4PM.. So it was a little quiet. Just us. Their music system is magnificent lolol. The bass is really good... Music just sounds better on that system..
REASONABLY PRICE: 8/10 - I personally think it is reasonably priced. Drinks are under $5 and the ice pots are 10-11$ but you get a lot of out it and it's definitely something you need to share so that makes it "$5 each" !
I would not go here again anytime soon. I would probably go again in the summertime or when watermelon / strawberries are in reason.

Read moreWhat an awful experience! My boyfriend and I came in to get dessert after our dinner. We waited 25 min for the girl behind the counter to even acknowledge our presence. When she did she apologized and said it would be another 2 min. She took our order and never asked if it was to go or for here and simply asked us to pay. There is a big sign on the counter that says take out will have additional charge for containers. Since we never got charged any takeout containers we figured she made our order for here which was perfect.
We ordered the mango sago & the strawberry bubble waffle. Everyone else was receiving their orders at their tables but ours was delivered in takeout containers. We realized quickly after receiving our order that the strawberry bubble waffle was not topped with syrup, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream as it is in the photos. We tried to go back to the girl to ask them to fix it. She charged us for the add on ice cream then handed us a takeout container with a scoop of vanilla ice cream inside. When we tried to eat the ice cream, we realized it was hard as a rock and completely inedible. We went back to the counter to try to ask her to fix it and she wasn’t even there and the line was getting longer for people waiting to order.
This establishment needs to hire more staff or at least learn to train their staff to pause delivery orders if the store is becoming unmanageable. I am so appalled by the experience. We couldn’t even ask for a refund for the waffle we didn’t even receive...
Read moreVery respectful and nice staff. In a small but comfortable area. The inside was well lit and nice for lounging as you talk with your friends. Portions were big and well made. (I had the cantaloupe bowl)
I went with my buddy to meet up with three other friends of mine. My three friends were apparently very hungry and had bought fried chicken from the near T&T and were devouring it in 17° (Even though you're not supposed to bring outside food in!). The store staff didn't make any note of my three (idiotic) friends who had then made their order without any trouble (I arrived a little later with my buddy as we took a little longer trying to find parking). I think they understood my hungry (and lowkey disrespectful) friends and didn't comment on them, literally devouring food, right infront of them (as it's a pretty small cafe). When I entered with my buddy we ordered regularly next to my friends (WHO WERE STILL DEMOLISHING FRIED CHICKEN). In the end, the staff never commented on us, and even when we asked for a single water, they brought a glass for all five of us. Saddly, when we left, the staff was out of sight so we couldn't thank them (it seemed that there were only 2 or 3 workers this day). Overall, I had a great cafe experience and recommend it as a good desert place after a meal, or a place to go to hang out and talk with...
