Decent prices cheaper than Fortune Terrace, Peninsula and even Kirin. A nice variety of dim sum and specialty items to choose from. They make buns and jelly/pudding according to the current popular trend of animals (i.e. bunnies, pandas) and even shape out a carrot for their taro paste bun. Their sweets are generally too sweet where even egg tarts taste more like sugar custard than egg custard.
About 1/4 of the items selected on the order sheet were overlooked when the server entered them into the system. After getting them to follow up (twice) on them, they still managed to leave out a few so I didn’t get to try as many dishes as I had intended. They even left out/gotten wrong on amount the ones where their staff used a blue pen to circle around. Neighbouring tables mentioning the slowness of the service were enthusiastically encouraged and taught to use their smartphones to self-serve place orders in future so that there’s no error and gets directly inputted to their system. You scan the QR code on the sticker that hosts their guest wifi login info on the plastic menu/paper holder that provides a link specific to your table number, choose the language, start ordering. This information isn’t volunteered nor advertised anywhere until there’s a complaint. Not sure if the servers realize that once they manage to convince 90% of their future patrons to use this automated method, they should be prepared for the company to cut back on unnecessary human staffing.
Tables are arranged in a somewhat crowded manner. Food delivery was done at a quick enough pace. They currently don’t seem to have a tea charge so it’s almost like a 10% saving compared to most other dimsum places. Disappointed that there wasn’t any kind of grand opening special offered. Service like placing orders and producing the cheque in a timely manner should see improvement after a few weeks of practice as those are terrible at the moment. We were even told while paying that it’s a good thing we were paying by card (portable machine) since if it was cash, it’d take a while to get the change back.
Making reservations day before their opening day was without hassle. After the visit, called back to book for another brunch later in the week and got the time I requested for. It was a full room during the noon seating with no one waiting at the door as I was leaving just after 1pm. Maybe fully booked? Not sure if any walk-ins were turned away or just decided to feed their hunger elsewhere rather than wait.
** 4/23 - 3 brunches & 1 dinner later will not be returning until space sees a better less greedy arrangement. Aweful when busy unless you’re especially lucky or seated in the VIP area of the building accessed from a different outside entrance closer to T&T. During dinner, a server tripped over my chair flying a few steps forward. Sunday brunch there were constantly trays of food carried directly above our heads while the servers squeeze through between tables. The 2nd Monday brunch had to get up to move out of the way for another patron to return to her table—she didn’t want to circle around again to squeeze through the other side that had a few unoccupied chairs where she could have maneuvered around—felt like I was in an airplane, not a fancy dining room. The tables & chairs are arranged very tightly to maximize capacity at the cost of comfort & maneuverability.
They now charge for tea @$1.50 per head. This invalidates the 1.5 hr parking validation of $3 they refund you. Self-inputted orders from scanning QR code to the linked website went without issue. Booked table still had to wait half hr. Wouldn’t recommend Peking duck as most of the meat (90%) wastefully boiled in the soup—no lettuce wrap option. Grand Dynesty or Mott32 cuts your duck much...
Read moreWent here a several weeks ago with family. Before we can even order, they were already trying to up sale us by pushing us to order their King crab, we said no as we’ve already made up our minds on what to order. The female server then asked if we would like to order their Dungeness crab or lobster instead and again we said no politely. She gave a sigh and her attitude changed and asked us “ ok so what do you want?” I proceeded to order and when I’m finished she again tried to up sale us by offering their fish special with was $70 regular but she’s offering it to us for $50. Again we politely said no as we’ve ordered about 5 dishes and told her we’ve ordered more than enough and probably won’t be able to finish everything. The waited for the food was 40 mins. When the food arrived they were served in large dishes. We asked the server if we can pls have a lazy Susan as it would make it easier for us. The server looked annoyed, looked around the room and said no and walked away. she did not give any explanation. There were 4 empty tables behind us with a lazy Susan not being used. We brush this off as we thought it’s not possible or maybe she didn’t speak English well as she muttered something in Chinese to us before she said no a. the food arrived only 2 dishes had serving spoon, we tried to ask a server could not find our so my mom grabbed extra spoon from the servers counter. later on while we were eating and chatting and my mom was looking for a server to ask for water. They would look away and walk pass us. My mom raised her hand hoping she to get someone’s attention or say excuse me when a server walked by, no one checked on us. This went on for about 20-30 mins. This may not sound so terrible but please imagine your throat is a desert combined with the fiery pits of hell from the chillies fighting in your throat. my sil got fed up, walked to the front of the restaurant to ask the gentleman wearing the suit up front if we could have some water. That’s the only time they came to our table throughout the night other than when they took our order, dropped the food and gave us the bill. We tried to get their attention for half an hour just for water. Towards the end of our dinner my dad wanted more water, so my mom had to grab a pitcher on her own. We waited another 15-20 to try to get a server to give us our bill but Again we asked the guy up front, he got our bill pretty quick and offered to pack our leftover. At this point we were annoyed by the service. We paid the bill. My brother and father left for the door and before me my mom and sil could leave, the server grabbed my mom, raised her voice and said tip is not enough. My mom did not pay for the bill so she did not know how much the bill was or how much was tipped and my brother was already outside at this point. My sister in law and I were shocked at her audacity and told my mom the bills and tip is paid. I was literally ready to go to jail for my mom for the amount of disrespect and audacity this lady was showing my mom. But my mom like the saint she is gave extra tip in cash. This lady literally stood next to her, placed the card envelope wide open and watched my mom open her wallet. My mom put another $20 at first. The server looked at it and did not move. I kid you not. She did not move yall! My mom felt uncomfortable and gave another $10. Again she did not moveeeeeeee! Before my mom could give more I closed the envelope and grabbed my moms arm. This heanous hag rolled her eyes, took the cash and walked away. She said nothing. I was fuming. I told my brother as soon as we left. He was so pissed off as he had given 15% despite the none existent service. I’m pretty sure she pocketed that cash tip. The quality of service is night and day from when we went there first time with a$900 bill vs second time with a $400 bill. It seems that their quality of service depends on how big your bills is and bonus if...
Read moreCame to this restaurant with my family as my mom said it was very good since it was Michelin rated (as "Recommended" back in 2022) and the food was tasty in her opinion. We were celebrating 3 birthdays that day.
Upon entering this restaurant, it had a very welcoming atmosphere with the big screen of Christmas theme and lots of seating for all sort of party sizes.
Note: you can see the restaurant's menu online. However the pricing has not been updated so ask ahead if they can send you an updated pricing sheet or go there to check it out yourself.
Below is what we ordered from the restaurant (pic reflected in order of list below): Braised Duck Stuffed w/ Salty Egg Yolk, Lotus Seed & Assorted Meat (Pre-Order). Had Stir-Fried Pea Tips with Garlic. Marinated Ranch Chicken (whole) Deep-Fried Squid w/Spicy Salt Scrambled Eggs w/ Prawns & Chives Pork Chop with Plum Sauce Assorted Seafood & Meat with Tofu in Clay Pot Sweet & Sour Boneless Pork Choy Sum with Fish Curd Braised E-Fu Noodle w/Assorted Mushroom Almond Cookies and Sweet Red Bean Soup (free)
Overall all these dishes were very tasty and the higher prices is justified as you get a very large portion. One of the highlighted dishes was the preordered duck as it had 8 treasures inside from chestnuts to salty egg yolk ... blew our minds away. The other highlighted dish was the scrambled eggs with prawn and chive. You may ask why this is a good dish ... well the egg was scrambled super smooth and silky and the flavour was out of this world. My wife said that the chives are the expensive kind (because they are yellow?) so really brings out the flavour of the dish.
The service was really great as expected of a recommended Michelin restaurant. No complaints from my family and will come back again to try their dim...
