We've been coming back for our favs and how they were lovely in the past, and we always bring our friends here. Tonight, we brought guests from Taiwan, and never been more embarrassed. It used to be our fav restaurant, not anymore 😢
Sat down 6.50 pm, ordered food, including the claypot rice and half duck.
Everything else came quick, except the rice and duck, so we kept on asking. We also noticed another table that sat and ordered after us and got the claypot rice first. The soup came about 7.30.
At 7.45, the duck just came, we asked to cancel the rice, and they say it's still coming.
8 pm, we finished eating the rest of the food and want to cancel the rice as we are finished eating and no longer want the rice. The waitress said it's coming, and we argued as it took an hour, so we don't want it anymore. The waitress said that it could not be canceled. The table beside us noticed and said, "Yes, it's understanable if you want to cancel."
Suddenly, the claypot rice appeared at our table, and we asked it to be wrapped as we really finished eating if we couldn't cancel it.
So the waitress just took the claypot rice and put it to another table, and said "ok, for you I can cancel"
We got the cheque, totaled $160, and with gst, it shouldn't be "$170" as they wrote on the cheque.
I went to cashier, handed $180, and she called me out about the tip: "five more dollars, for the tip?" Argued a little bit, and i'm just really sad and left...
Read morethey say that the less english the menu has the more better the food is, and i guess this place kinda proved it right as it was above avrg compared to orher restarants in vancouver.
the 黃鱔煲仔飯/ eel rice 好有鑊氣but the eel itself was not tender the rice coupdve used mire flavor. but it was nice and crispy 3/5
the flavour of salted egg yolk in their fried shrimp hits you the moment u take a bite of it but the flavour of shrimp is nonexistent 2.5/5
their soup just tasted like a ton of white peppercorns and msg but it also had flavour some meat flavor in it 2.5/5
their chicken retained its crispiness despite sirrjnf there for 15 mins, and it was nice and juicy, but id say pls marinate ur chicken more... 3.5/5
they also had five spice geese which tasted like a duck drowning in sugar accompanied with all sweet potatoes 1/5
as for their 黑椒A級神 牛柳/ "kobe beef" stir fry, it had LOTS of 鑊氣 and flavour , esp the mushrooms, but the meat was marinated in some baking soda so u donf even know what meat they put into this unless u read the menu 4/5
if you've ever eaten panda express's orange chicken, then this is what their sweet and sour pork tastes like- enveloped with the sickening flavour of high fructose corn syrup thats sweeter than plain sugar itself... but i will say it was really crispy 0.5/5
they gave free dessert that was too sweet too!!!...
Read moreWe get to the restaurant and they immediately tell us that there are no tables, yet we see 4 available tables that’s empty. So fine, we order take out. We finally get this servers attention and she asks us for our order then she cuts me off and proceeds to have a conversation with another customer who was also annoyed at how unorganized the the service was. Then she starts talking to me again - and I proceed with my order and cuts me off again to speak to the same customer, she does this a 3rd time and I finally go to the counter to make my order. Another server helps me out and tells me to move away from the counter, so I did and then she proceeds to talk to the other server even though I was in the middle of telling her my order. Honestly, this place seems really unorganized, not customer service oriented, and these two particular servers were super rude. I was excited to try this place out but right when I opened the front door, the experience was a nightmare. I would never recommend this place to anyone, there are so many other places that are similar in Vancouver that have way better...
