Let me preface this review by saying the owner of this location refuses to own up to his mistake and instead tries to shift the blame on the customer, claiming I had ordered the wrong drink. When I came back and explained to him that the Roasted milk tea tasted like water, he blamed the oat milk for the off taste. So I told him that if that was the case, then having it made without the oat milk would be a better option. Despite his reluctance (and him arguing over how I should be paying for this second drink), the owner agreed to replace my drinkâŚ
However, this is was where the real nightmare began. Instead of preparing a fresh correctly made milk tea, he resorted to an utterly embarrassing tactic. He decided to filter the topping from my original drink and mix it into a new one.
Filtering the topping to save on costs and deceive customers into believing they were getting the real deal is a new low for any business owner. Because of this, the replacement drink was only marginally better than the first one, but the underlying deception tainted the entire experience.
If you had ordered a chicken noodle soup and the soup was bad, would you filter everything out and put it in a new soup? No. You would make a a fresh one with fresh ingredients because good business practices come from putting the quality of products first before anything else. I can't fathom why anyone would think this kind of deceitful behavior is acceptable in the food industry.
Customers expect honesty and quality, not shoddy attempts to save money and cover up mistakes.
The girls at the front were sweet and nice. However, the ownerâs customer service was appalling. The owner's dismissive and rude attitude only added fuel to the fire.
Reading similar reviews from other customers who had faced the same situation about being being charged for a replacement drink further reinforces the prevailing sentiment of being taken advantage of.
It is evident that the owner cares more about squeezing every penny out of unsuspecting customers than providing a genuine customer experience.
I genuinely hope that the management of this boba shop takes these reviews seriously and reflects on their business practices. I have two final words for the owner/ manager in charge on Friday at Chatime...
Read moreI am absolutely shocked by the bad service I received at this Chatime Waterfront location earlier today at around 3:30pm.
I had ordered a Roasted milk tea with oat milk, + 80% sweetness and the drink had no taste and unfortunately tasted like plain water. I went back and stated the issue and instead of offering an apology or a remake of the drink, I was met with resistance and the manager/owner gave me a hard time, saying I would have to be charged again for a replacement. I stated this was not what I had ordered and he even proceeded to argue with me saying it was not their fault and blamed it on the oat milk.
My question is - Why am I supposed to pay for another drink if this current one tastes like muggy water mixed with toppings?? Is this the type of quality you are proud of serving?
If it doesnât have any flavor and I ordered 80% sweetness, donât you think you should remake it - FREE OF CHARGE- because what you delivered was not what I ordered?
I had not asked for a refund- all I wanted was a properly made drink that lives up to the reputation of Chatimeâs famous roasted milk tea. It is disheartening that the manager âwhom should be concerned about maintaining the quality of their products, seemed more interested in extracting additional money from an already dissatisfied customer.
Iâve been to many bubble tea shops and never have I seen such unacceptable business practice. I believe that many people can agree with me that if your drink comes out poorly made, it should be remade and the customer should not be charged a second time.
I had expected a much higher standard of customer service and product quality. Unfortunately, this experience has left me questioning whether Chatime âs service has gone downhill as...
Read morePlaced a takeout order for 5 drinks, didnât provide a bag, one of the drinks fell out of the tray because itâs flimsy and they made me pay to have it remade even though they refused to provide me with a bag when I asked. Wouldnât recommend this location, extremely unhappy with the service.
Response to the owners reply: I placed the order online which does not have an option to pay for a bag. when I asked for one at the store she told me no and that the drinks wouldn't fit anyways because I have so many so she stacked them on a singular tray and said it would be sturdy. Do not lie and say that was the reason when it wasn't. I came back immediately as I was still at the building not 5 minutes later. regardless you guys could have better customer service and replace the drink however since you want to be cheap I will never be returning to this location. I work in the area at a large company and because of my negative experience and your response saying "it's not our fault" (which btw you don't run a company like that you offer solutions) and how you would rather blame your customers instead of just replacing 1 of the 5 LARGE drinks I purchased you will unfortunately be loosing a lot of business. My co workers are not impressed, we order from here almost once a day and at least 3-4 times a week for multiple people in the office. I rather take my business ELSE WHERE. the response to your customers on your reviews are very petty and not...
