I recently had the pleasure of dining at the extraordinary CM Chicken, and I am ecstatic to report that it was nothing short of a 5-star experience. From the delectable food to the impeccable service and the inviting atmosphere, every aspect of this dining establishment exceeded my expectations.
The true star of the show was, without a doubt, the incredible Korean fried chicken. It's no exaggeration to say that I've never tasted fried chicken this good. The batter was perfectly crispy, shattering with each bite to reveal tender, succulent chicken beneath. The menu offered a delightful variety of flavours, from classic soy garlic to the mouthwatering Snow Onion Chicken. Each piece of chicken was seasoned and sauced to perfection!
" PS. - The head chef had generously offered us this home-made seafood soup , a recipe he got from his grandmother. Was extraordinary!!! "
The service here was extraordinary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated promptly. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to assist. They were nothing short of friendly, and really made our dinning experience feel homemade. Our orders were taken efficiently, and the food arrived at our table piping hot and incredibly quickly. They even went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed.
The atmosphere at the Korean Fried Chicken Place was cozy and inviting. The interior was tastefully decorated, with a blend of modern and traditional Korean elements. It's an ideal spot for a night out with friends, a family dinner, or even a date – a versatile ambiance that caters to various dining occasions.
In summary, my visit to CM Chicken was nothing short of perfection. The food was a mouthwatering delight, the service was out of this world, and the atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. If you're a fan of fried chicken or Korean cuisine, this place is an absolute must-visit.
" Friendly Chef, if you're reading this. We will toast again soon to your Kooksoondang...
Read moreI've never experienced such generosity from who I assume is the restaurant owner. I came here late, past midnight, after a long 13 hour shift with UberEats. I cashed out my pay for the day, and normally it instantly goes to my bank. Unknowingly to me, there was a delay this time...
I go into CM Chicken, hungry as hell, and am greeted by a warm, friendly man who also seems to have had a long day. I order some snow spicy garlic boneless chicken, and he gets to cooking it right away. As he's cooking I go to pay, only to be declined. I go to my banking app and notice my stalled payment... I explained this to him frantically as he's finishing up the order... And with ZERO hesitation whatsoever, he waves it off like it's no big deal, and with a smile on his face, he says "don't worry about it!" and continues to pack the food.
He insists that I take the food and that I can square up "next time". I say "I'll come tomorrow morning", he says "No, no! Don't worry, next time you're here!". He then throws in a small side, and tells me I'll need something to drink, and throws a coke into the bag. He hands all the food to me, me, a total stranger - still smiling.
Aside from that unbelievably friendly service, the chicken is so amazing. Nice and crispy and the meat is very good quality. The portion size is very large too, I didn't even get the full size order and I can't finish this in one sitting.
I'm still in shock to have had such generous service. What a class act. Thank you! Can't wait...
Read moreWe were a group of six who arrived at 11:30 p.m. The host accepted us politely, informing us we could stay until 12:30 a.m. and that a 15% group tax would apply. We respected both conditions and sat down.
When it came time to order, one member of our group chose not to eat. The server immediately told us that everyone at the table must order an item over $15, or none of us could be served. This policy was never communicated by the host before seating us.
The server’s tone was condescending and confrontational. We were told : “You were informed before sitting. Everyone has to order over $15.” This was not true, and the delivery was unnecessarily intimidating. We chose to leave quietly rather than argue.
It is deeply inappropriate to force someone to eat or spend money they don’t intend to, especially in a diverse city like Vancouver. For many, including those with dietary restrictions or cultural/religious fasting practices, this kind of food-enforcement policy is exclusionary and potentially mentally triggering.
Reading the reviews it is clear that we are not the only ones. Multiple reviews for this same branch mention the inappropriate service.
Restaurants have the right to set policies, but they also have a duty to communicate them clearly and respectfully. Denying service to a group because one person isn’t eating and asking how much to spend per person is not hospitality for sure and management needs to consider...
