I had such a great experience at Viva cafe & Bakery š„ Iām coming to this place since a while and new some Pastry chefs who worked there in the past. Here I am again and that time Iāll let a review for everyone to enjoy their visit to the coffee. I got myself two sandwiches, apparently I was hungry that day, is that the word ? Lol. I choose the Chicken pesto and the breakfast muffin. As I came late I didnāt get the chance to try the sweet treat that I wanted. So let me get back to the sandwiches š„Ŗ They were simply divine ! Delicious. Couldnāt figure it out which one I prefer. The chicken pesto was excellent, the ciabatta bread crunchy and crusty just enough, the chicken was real chunk of thick and tender cooked to the grill, still juicy but not loose, the pesto almost intense. As soon as you bite it once youāre already biting for a second time without awareness⦠thatās a 12/10. Simply my favourite sandwich in town so far, period. For the breakfast muffin, same same, the bread is delightful, the ham so flavourful, spinach well seasoned, and the egg š³ so nicely cooked. Great job, I highly recommend and strongly suggest anyone to try them, you wonāt be disappointed. The team is really nice and helpful, smiling and friendly. The location is really cute, and their patio is meant to be enjoyable. See you next time !!! Iāll come back for the sweet...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think my experience may have been a one off. I came to the place because I saw all the great reviews and friends told me about this place. Being new to the area, it was a great location for a cafe. I left my dog who is a rescue dog outside of the cafe. Due to the fact my dog is undergoing training with his separation anxiety, he was whimpering while I ordered the coffee. The staff was understanding and even gave me dog treats and helped me with my order. However, when the barista picked up my coffee cup to make the latte she said, "I better make the latte quick or this dog will wake up the whole neighbourhood." No one said anything to her comment.
While waiting outside the door of the cafe, one of the patrons of the cafe told me to "Take the battery pack out of that thing" and "that dog is a bad dog". One note, some of the other patrons were very sweet and tried to stand next to my dog to give him some comfort.
All in all, the coffee and muffin was wonderful. But I must say I was quite upset with the barista and patron. Again, I think we all have bad days and this is likely one negative experience out of many experiences...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's hard to properly rate a food establishment during Covid but this one was easy! Lots of sanitizer, plexiglass, capacity limits, etc. The lid and condiments are done by staff to minimize contamination. The lid is put on using a glass so no one's hand even touches it! To open the door, you can use the great foot opener, they've thought of everything! That all being said, their service is super friendly and welcoming. I was warmly greeted early in the morning and they introduced me to their "healthy scone" (more like a nut/seed biscuit) that was phenomenal and I was poured an absolutely delicious Oat Matcha Latte. To top it off, the barista still made a heart in my to go cup even if a lid was going on it, she took the care to brighten my morning with a welcoming heart. š. All this in the backdrop of the new pandemic life we're collectively experiencing, they're really giving you their best!
I will definitely be going back....
