Baja Pescado
The Baja Pescado features tempura battered Pacific cod accompanied by chipotle mayo, green cabbage, pico de gallo, and cilantro. The cod was well-seasoned and fried to a pleasing crispness. However, the dish could benefit from a more generous portion of pico de gallo to enhance its freshness. Overall, it was a satisfying dish.

Barbacoa
The Barbacoa consists of braised beef served with salsa, crispy onions, pickled jalapenos, onions, and cilantro. While the dish was adequate, it did not leave a significant impression compared to the Baja Pescado and Grilled Corn.

Chips and Dips
The Chips and Dips included a sampler of three dips: pico de gallo, guacamole, and charred eggplant. The charred eggplant dip stood out with its rich and unique flavor. However, the portion of chips was somewhat small.

Enoki Mushrooms
The tempura battered Enoki Mushrooms delivered a delightful flavor. The mushrooms were crispy and well-seasoned, making them an enjoyable dish.

Quesabirria
The Quesabirria, recommended by the waiter, featured braised lamb shoulder, pickled jalapenos, onions, a crispy cheese skirt, and cilantro. While the dish was flavorful, it was slightly too salty for my taste.

Carne Asada
The Carne Asada is a four-taco platter with grilled Alberta flank steak, pickled onion, roasted peppers, salsa, charred onion aioli, and cilantro. This dish was a highlight and comes highly recommended. The steak could have been cooked a bit longer for added tenderness, but it was otherwise well-executed.

Ambiance
The restaurant offers a charming ambiance with tasteful decor in a cozy, small interior. The music enhanced the overall dining experience.
Service
Despite the restaurant being busy upon arrival, we were seated promptly. The three waiters who attended to us were knowledgeable and provided thorough explanations of the menu items.
Verdict
Overall, this dining experience was positive. While I look forward to returning, it may not be immediate. The drinks were slightly expensive and contained a substantial...
Read moreAs a valued local, I'm sad to write this. I've been there 100 times with friends to enjoy late-night tacos and drinks. Never a problem. Last week, our tacos took an hour to get to us. We were starving, and when the tacos arrived they were dried out and burnt. They had obviously been under the heat lamp far too long. We ate them because we were starving. Our server apologized that they took so long. Instead of sending them back because they were burnt, I offered to pay 50% of the cost, as I thought it was a win. They took an hour and were burnt....fair offer. She said ''ok, I'll ask our manager.'' This guy who has been there a couple of weeks came out and had a very bad attitude with me. He was not understanding at all, and in a very condescending tone said, "Fine I'll take them off your bill." I said, "I didn't want that, and was happy to pay 50%." I then asked what happened to the cook? Did he quit or walk out? Manager guy, while walking away from me said , "I Took Them off your Bill!"... He handled the situation like a child, and left me wanting to smear him on Google review, but I didn't because I like the bar and the employees, and go there often. Tonight, a week later, upon arriving for a pint, I was told I am not allowed in! Are You Kidding Me??! Because I discussed poor food quality with this "Manager"... So, just to be clear, I had a chat with mgmt about an obvious problem that the kitchen had that night....and...
Read moreWalked by this place one night, thought it looked like a neat little restaurant, decided to check it out. It was... OK.
The good: It's a cozy place, but not a small place. Eating there is intimate without being crowded. My partner and I went on a Friday night but it wasn't super busy, we could talk to each other without raising our voice or anything.
We sat inside but there is a patio outside and it looks great.
The food was quite good. We started with the guacamole which was excellent and the fresh chips that came with it were quite good. He had the fried cauliflower tacos and I had the chicken mole, and while they were a little pricey for the amount of food we were getting, they were delicious. Like, real good.
The bad: The service was pretty poor. Very friendly, but a long long wait to order drinks, to get our drinks, to order food, to get more drinks, etc. I mean, we had finished our beers and our water and then waited a while before we were asked if we wanted another drink. We also both liked the look of the others tacos so we ordered more food, and we never got it. It just never came.
I would say check this place out. Judging by other reviews the service issue was maybe just a one-off or a bad day or something, and if that's the case this is a great...
