I ordered from here via Door Dash.

What I love most about Edible Flours is how personal their response to every order seems. It really feels like a friend baking you a yummy sweet for a perfect Friday night in.

I decided to sample their cupcakes, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Nanaimo Bar, and S’mores Bar — the last three all being gluten free with an option of gluten free for cupcakes as well!

For the cupcake, I picked a vanilla base with a dainty pink raspberry frosting. Both the base and the frosting are very light and the flavour is more of a subtle sweetness as opposed to the common overpoweringly sweet cupcakes, which made it much more delightful to enjoy. The frosting itself I found quite vibrant both in appearance and in taste, and I really like that it isn’t as heavy as other frostings tend to be!

The Chocolate Chip Cookie (GF) is my personal favourite. It has the perfect balance of both a crumbly and buttery texture, and melts in your mouth too! Don’t buy just one — you’ll want at least two!

As for the Nanaimo Bar, a Vancouver classic, they’ve nailed every layer perfectly. What stands out for me the most is the creamy vanilla middle layer created in the smoothest of textures that balances out the chocolate just perfectly. The dessert as a whole really ties together well, with each layer complementing the next.

The S’mores Bar (GF) is the sweetest treat of the four. If you’re a lover of chocolate, this one’s definitely for you! With a chewy brownie base, a fluffy middle layer, and a fudgy top layer pressed with marshmallows and cookie crumbs, the S’mores Bar offers three irresistible layers of chocolatey goodness that will cure any sugar craving. Pair it with a cold cup of almond milk and you’re good to go!

Each dessert seems to be made with such love and delicacy, which is what I find makes this bakery so great! I look forward to trying even more...

Yesterday 18th October 2025 was dedicated to chocolate cupcakes. The first mention of a dessert with the qualities of a cupcake was in American Cookery in 1796, and the first time the term "cupcake" was used was in 1828. National Chocolate Cupcake Day reminds us that chocolate cupcakes are more than just food to delight the taste buds, though. They’re also something that helps many people push through the struggles and strains of life. The comfort of a delicious cupcake is something that you can enjoy in the evening after a busy day.

Fun Facts: Chocolate cupcakes predate modern chocolate bars. In the 18th century, chocolate was mainly consumed as a drink. Bakers experimented with incorporating chocolate into cakes before solid chocolate bars became widely available in the mid-19th century.

Personal Note: One of the weirdest flavors I ate would be the wasabi chocolate cupcakes, this spicy Japanese condiment adds a surprising kick to the sweet and creamy texture. Other unusual flavors include chocolate squid ink cupcakes in some Asian bakeries and chocolate-covered bacon cupcakes, which blend sweet and salty flavors for a unique experience.

To celebrate I bought a dozen to share, hope you all had a treat yourselves as well.

Edible Flours is truly a ‘gem’. This is review is ‘unsolicited’. As a longtime vegan, I had come to expect having a plant-based latte or coffee out in the community would be a solo-order venture. Edible Flours changed that. Even though my family and I consume few bakery or sweet goods in addition to enjoying a healthy vegan diet at home, Edible Flours has been a fun treat for us - you can pick anything and ‘you don’t even have to ask any questions”! I am the VEG (Vegan Enthusiast Group) for a ‘major’ public internationally-known and respected institution, I shall be featuring Edible Flours in our fall newsletter.

Whether you are vegan or not, Edible Flours needs to be on your radar screen.

Rather than the typical dinner parties we used to give, coffee parties with pre-ordered cinnamon rolls and full-flavoured fruits tarts from Edible Flours are our MO!

Thank you for your vision Edible Flours. The more we move from animal-sourced foods, the healthier we will be (and I am not suggesting a steady diet of Edible Flours treats), the healthier the environment and climate are, and no other animal had to suffer factory farming or be exploited or...

I dropped by Edible Flours with my daughter and we used a plant based deals coupon to bring home a few of their baked goods to try. They are an entirely vegan bakery and as I'm always on the lookout for good places to get vegan eats, I was eager to try out this shop. Featured here: Spinach Artichoke Roll Chewy Coconut Cookie Gluten Free Smores Bar Spinach Artichoke Roll looked and sounded better than it tasted. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. Absolutely loved the Chewy Coconut Cookie and Gluten Free Smores Bar! The cookie was soft and chewy as its name suggests, and the Smores Bar was packed with flavor. So wonderful to know that food can be vegan, gluten free and still loaded with yumminess! Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the side streets off Broadway
