It's been a year since I last wrote a review for this place, and today, as I walked by, I was surprised to see it has changed owners and names. So, I decided to visit. The walls have been updated to a beautiful grey with tasteful black and white paintings, creating a calming atmosphere. There’s a wider selection of pastries now, and the everything croissant caught my eye—hard to find outside of JJ Bean Cafes. For coffee, I chose a brewed coffee and a single shot of espresso. The brewed coffee was bland for my taste, but the espresso had a good flavor. The staff was very friendly, greeting me with a big smile. The prices for the pastries were reasonable, but the coffee was a bit pricey, especially since I had to pay for two shots when ordering just one. Overall, it's a great place to visit!. Update: After my recent visit to this coffee shop, I feel compelled to share an updated review based on my experiences. I had the chance to try their winter special—a latte paired with any sandwich for just $13.99. I opted for the Chicken Pesto sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious! The bread was fresh, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced. Today, I decided to try the Cortado, which came highly recommended by the owner. He confidently assured me it would win me over—and he was right! I also had the Turkey sandwich on multigrain bread, which was equally satisfying. The coffee here is simply amazing—rich, flavorful, and far better than anything I’ve had at Starbucks. I will definitely be coming...
Read moreThis cafe is kind of unassuming from the outside - you might not notice it if you didn’t know to look, but I’m glad I discovered it! It’s run by a nice couple and the woman who took my order was helpful with my questions. It was hard to choose a savoury item because the quiches and sandwiches all looked great, but I ended up going with a tomato and basil quiche, which I was really happy with - the filling was great, but what really impressed me was the fresh flakey pastry crust. Choosing a dessert was easier because I saw they had tiramisu cake and I am easy to win over with tiramisu, and this lived up to my expectations. The cake also tasted very fresh and I loved the fluffiness of the cream. I wasn’t crazy about the strawberry espresso tonic that I had to drink - the espresso tasted sour (which I think was the espresso and not the tonic, but I don’t get espresso tonic often so I could be wrong). My total was about $20, I would say their prices are reasonable for the quality. Their muffins looked so good and I’m sure I’ll be back...
Read moreI generally do not write reviews, but this place deserves it! If you are in Vancouver, you have to visit Livni Café & Bakery. This little café in the Kitsilano area will definitely win a place in your heart. As soon as you enter this coffee shop, you will be transported to a typical cafe in Buenos Aires, Argentina! But not only the ambiance is amazing, also the food is spectacular and the staff is super friendly. Is not surprising that the classic “ medialunas con Dulce de leche” ( kind of a croissant with Dulce de leche) are sold out most of the days! This café’s menu has a variety of lunch items and pastries, but also handmade chocolates that pair up perfect with a nice cup of coffee! So if you are you looking for a new place to try, go to Livni and I can assure that you won’t regret it!!! I had an amazing time here today with a friend, and we’ll definitely pay another...
