One of the worst experiences I’ve had, even for a late night pho restaurant. Just as we took our seats, the they told us to move tables so they could accommodate a table of 5 who came in after us (we were a party of 2). The food took a long time to arrive and the first time, they mistook us for a different table. The server did not apologize or even acknowledge us when he realized the food he put on our table was not even ours and proceeded to serve it to the correct table and promptly left without a word. When our food arrived, the pho arrived 5-10 minutes before the ā€˜vermicelli’. Unfortunately, I was not served what I had ordered. I ordered the Grilled Pork and Spring Roll Vermicelli and I got a completely different order (Rice with Grilled Pork & Sausage?). I told the server and he apologized and told me they could not make my order as the list of orders was too long. He apologized again and only offered a discount when we had a moment of silence. The pho was terrible. Firstly, the beef was super tough. The noodles were disintegrating into little pieces and they did not serve us any bean sprouts, lime, basil which is expected for a pho restaurant. We were not given napkins, nor hoisin/hot sauce. We had to take it ourselves from a table nearby. When it came time to pay at the counter, the experience was awkward and uncomfortable as we had to explain the order situation to whom I assume is the owner/manager which was difficult as we had a language barrier. I had to flag down the server to explain to him to which we were given the salad roll free of charge… The server should have explained to the manager after my first conversation, but was clear he didn’t. To say the least, I would not come back here. This was not my first time here but it is definitely my last.

We went to TRUONG Thanh after badminton, and we wanted to find somewhere along Kingsway to eat, so we searched and found that area has multiple Vietnamese restaurants with stellar reviews, so we pick TRUONG Thanh, because it close later than the other one I was thinking about. So we went. The spring rolls, and lemongrass chicken were great, all 6 of us loved them, but the noodles, and the rice combos, we all agreed that they are just average, nothing too special about them. Service was good, very accommodating, and friendly. I am not too sure why the high reviews, and even made it on some local foodie’s IG page. It’s a little disappointing with high expectations. May be it’s an off day for the chef, or maybe we don’t know what to order. Or maybe just overhyped.

Always walked by but never went in. Decided to give it a go. Ordered the everyday special combo B which is a standard go to lemon grass chicken or pork chop on rice with a spring roll or shrimp salad roll. I opted for lemon grass chicken with a spring roll because deep fried goodness. The lemon grass chicken was good minus the few grisly bites and the spring roll was definitely fried and crispy. Service was alright, the staff were nice and smiley but not the most attentive as had to flag them down for drink refills but guess that is expected at a cash or debit Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant was clean with usual restaurant decor. I would come back and try other dishes as they are open until quite late.

Pho is decent. The broth could have a bit more flavour though. The main issue here is picking up orders through an app. I’m hesitant to ever order online from them again. For two consecutive times, there’s been a miscommunication with pickup.

The first time, I told them clearly the name and which app I used, but they told me the total and punched in the total on the card machine to have me pay. The amount was also much higher than what we had paid on the app. When I repeated the order, they said ā€œoh, okay, here’s your foodā€. Weird.

The second time, when the app said it was time to pick up our food, they had no idea that we had placed an online order. The man at the cash register kept asking the women at the back about our order. Judging by their reactions, it looked like one of them clearly knew about our order but pretended she did not. She looked quite nervous or scared. In addition, I never mentioned what items we ordered but they were able to guess what we ordered. We had a strong feeling they made our order but gave it away to someone else before us. After my partner went to talk to them, the staff agreed to make our order. This meant we had to wait another...

Seems to be very busy at 11pm on a week night. It was packed with lots of high school and college aged people. This review is for the pho. I've been here years ago and it's just like I remember--it's just OK. I suppose it's consistent since it's exactly like I expected, the depth of flavour for the beef broth was lacking, there was not much flavour at all. Can't comment on the other food though since we haven't tried it here.

Service was non existent. Did not give us any menus until we asked, and for some reason we didn't get any Thai basil on our dish. Yet when they brought it out for the other tables, theirs had both bean sprouts and basil. They probably didn't care since there seemed to be only two people running the restaurant at the time.

What they have going for them is that they are open until 4am, and price point is decent. They accept cash...
