I walked here after discovering Hula at Pacific Center has permanently closed. Hula is hands down my favourite poke bar so I didn’t mind the extra 15 min of walking after already walking 15 min to the first location. It seemed busy but I waited and ordered my weekly usual - Peruvian with Kelp noodles. I then waited 20 minutes and only heard them go up 3 numbers. There were still 10 numbers ahead of mine after 20 minutes and probably 15 people still waiting (there were a couple conference groups). I explained I needed to be at a meeting in 10 minutes and asked for a refund but they insisted they make my bowl right away and apologized for the wait. The bowl I received felt light but after waiting 25+ min I was in no position to argue, so I took it and rushed back to work where I was sorely disappointed. The bowl is half full; barely any kelp noodles (so glad I paid extra for literally about 1/4 of a cup - they were all gone in 2 bites), no avocado, no chili. This is a fraction of what I would normally pay for and receive at the Pacific Center location. Super disappointed I waited so long, paid $18 and left a tip and ended up still hungry. All photos are before I took a single bite. The lid is clean because food wasn’t even touching it.

Had a poke bowl from Hula for lunch! Chose their Ponzu flavour with marinated salmon, and it was a good meal. I always wish there was more protein for the price, but that being said, the flavours were fantastic. There was ample dressing and the soy and citrus notes coated the base and ingredients well (coconut rice, avocado, cucumber, carrots, red peppers, pickled red onions, kale). The bowl felt healthier than the other poke shops and was therefore, a nice change of pace. All the flavours are already predetermined so there aren't any customizable bowl options (although you do pick your own protein/veg and base). I ordered and received my bowl in under two minutes as the only customer at the time. It came to $17.32 including tax. Not the cheapest option for lunch, but the portion was fair and it's a good option in the food court! They have many dairy free, gluten free and vegan friendly options.

Just reaching the reviews, seems like the ownership change didn’t make a difference. I paid 18 dollars for this bowl with few slices of kale. The Yuzu fish or entire bowl was the most salty thing i have ever tasted. I had to drink water every time I taste it. I did not know you can screw up a poke bowl like that. 100% don’t recommend. (see the Salty review from the owner down below, it is indeed very salty) <- this is addressed to your ‘loyal customer - office workers who don’t have a choice’, this is how the ownership treats its customer. I have spent more money on a poke bowl/lunch but your food taste is just not consistent so I rather spend $25 dollars on subway, at least they don’t over salt their seasoning to hurt my gut :)

I visited on 14th August around 1pm. Ordered yuzu poke. I found a hair inside of my poke and let the staff know but they just said “It’s from fried onions that not made here. It’s not our fault.” Do you think that is the right answer to the customers who get the food with a hair inside?? What kind of customer service is that? I asked them to throw away my poke cuz it’s disgusting but no any compensation. Can’t believe it

———— Okay, I got the response from the owner here saying

“We have checked our cameras & spoke with the staffs but no one recall your complaint or showed on our CCTV. Sa, you have no approve or pictures to backup your complaint. Also, we checked your reviews history and mostly were bad reviews given to other authentic cafe & restaurants hoping to get some kind of compensation.”

This owner implies that I’m lying here?? What is the point of doing that for me? I already left the store and I know I can’t get any compensation anymore and I don’t expect to get it either. I just want to let you guys know that you guys should know what is the right behavior to the customers. I asked one of staff to take a picture of the hair to report to the fried onion company. You should check your camera carefully. Also I do write the 5 stars review on some cafes as well. I barely write the reviews but I do that when I have very good experience or very bad experience. Now I understand why staff here don’t know what is the customer service cuz they...
