Hidden Gem. Tucked away to the side of a building complex near the corner of Thurlow and Pender street. Can't see much from the sidewalk, but walk all the way in, and you'll find yourself an amazing buffet Lunch for $20 (M-F). Lots of seats inside, with about 6-8 hot items to choose from. That day, there were lentils, mixed veggies (little spicy), paneer, veggie pakora, fish, tandori chicken, and butter chicken. Super friendly staff, fresh chutneys, fish was moist and tender, mango dessert was fresh and yummy. The items will vary just slightly from day to day. They give you a basket of either regular naan or garlic naan. I prefer these types of buffets with fewer items, where each item is of higher quality, than those places with 50+ items that often sit and go stale. One caveat is that there could be MSG or equivalents in the spices/sauces, as I got very thirsty and sleepy afterwards. This happened on more than one occasion. There is parking conveniently located downstairs (enter from Thurlow street). $7.50 for an hour is more than enough since you get to start eating right away. Meter parking is ~$5.30/hr, IF you can find one :)

If your are looking for a cheap Indian Buffet in downtown Vancouver, Indian Delicacy will fit that profile. Their lunch buffet is 19.95 + tax. This is cheap compared to other buffet BUT don’t expect a large options like the big buffet places. They only have 2 sections. One for the savory and the other for dessert, sauces. To be honest, whatever they have is more than enough for me for the price of 19.95. They have the standard chicken tandoori, butter chicken, paneer which is mostly what I get. They only have 1 salad, 2 types of rice, garlic or plain bread, 4 deserts options and some sauces and dips. I like the tandoori chicken, butter chicken and paneer. The garlic naan was good and warm when they served. Nothing interesting with the dessert but if you love gulabjamun, that have one but I find it too sweet for my taste. Overall, I will say it’s good enough for a 20CAD bufffet. I left full and satisfied without breaking my budget. The servers were nice too. The dining area was kind of out dated but seating area was spacious and comfortable so it was ok in the end.

First of all, this is not a fine dining restaurant as claimed on their website. The dining room is dirty, stacked with boxes. Service was awful and the food was terrible. For the starters/appetizer we ordered a mixed tandoori platter. A big mistake. The chef cooked the shrimp, lamb ,chicken and fish on one skewer. The shrimps were burned to the crisps. Lamb was undercooked and raw. Only the fish was done properly. When serving the food our waiter, Mr. Ramji brought our appetizer platter and all the entrees with naan at the same time to the table. I told him that it would have been nice to have the appetizer first, Mr. Ramji very rudely replied that this is how it's supposed to be. They always serve all the food together. That's how the Goras like it. When I asked him why it's called the starter? He told me that I did not asked for it to be served first. So my fault. The kadhi lamb was terrible. They just used some ketchup or red tomato sauce to cook the lamb. The only good part was the hostess she seemed to care for customers. Not a fine dining Indian restaurant.

I was very pleased to have stumbled upon this (wouldn't have even found it if it weren't for the sandwich board signs out on Pender St. which I saw while walking around doing errands). $19.95 for the weekday buffet and it was great! Fresh naan (you can choose plain or garlic) brought to your table and the dishes you helped yourself to were well-maintained even near the end of the time. Great service. Tasty food. I like the reasonable number of choices because each one was quite good. I'd rather have fewer items but have them be all tasty than to have many more items and find that they are really hit or miss. Things that I think they do better than some of the places I've been to lately - mixed veg pakora had a nice crispy batter; fish "vindaloo" (not really sure about vindaloo but the sign said so) was very good with nice pieces of fish; naan was actually pretty good; the raita was very tasty to me whereas I've been not enjoying the last few restaurants that I've been to; the curry with the paneer is not something I usually like that much but this was tasty; their green chutney was really good; tandoori chicken was solid. Rice pudding with the bits of noodles was very nice. For dessert, there was also cubes of cantaloupe and watermelon. I do think that they are very easy on the heat for the customers that would come around but there is hot sauce at the buffet which I could have used. I kind of regret not trying it but I also do not need a lot of heat. But the balance and the lack of bitterness was really appealing to me. The textures were also good...

I’ve visited Indian Delicacy a couple of times and overall had a really enjoyable experience.

🍽️ Food – The food is consistently tasty and well-prepared without being overly spicy. I tried the butter chicken, dal makhani, chicken tikka masala, butter naan, and mango lassi—all excellent and flavorful. That said, I wouldn’t recommend the chicken lollipops—they were mostly batter and masala with barely any meat. To their credit, they removed it from the bill without hesitation.

✨ Ambience – The outdoor verandah area with views of the small open-air auditorium setup is lovely and gives the place a unique charm. However, I’m taking off one star for the indoor ambience, which feels darker than expected. The open kitchen adds more noise than it should—great to see activity, but it would be better if either enclosed or kept quieter.

👨‍🍳 Service – The service is fantastic. Ram and the rest of the team are very respectful, attentive, and accommodating. They genuinely care about customer feedback, which made the visit feel welcoming.

🚗 Parking – Located in a busy area, but there’s paid underground parking, which is convenient once you know where to look.

Would definitely return for the food and service, especially on a nice day to enjoy the...

Never been to their actual restaurant. I usually order from Uber Eats and so far their food is the best in Vancouver downtown or Canada. I recently moved from USA and expected Indian food/restaurants in Canada to be of superior quality, however, I havent yet found even one restaurant thats even close to my expectation/of the quality as in US. But this restaurant has way better tasting food than any I have tried in Vancouver plus the portions is great too. I wont say they match up to my expectations or as good as I have had in the States when it comes to taste, but they are the best in the given lot. And even over a food ordering app they listen to your instructions which I am finding that none of the restaurants are paying any heed to, its like everyone here chooses to just ignore the customer instructions on how they like there food. But Indian Delicacy always pay attention to my instructions. So far I haven't had any complaints with them, I only wish they had their restaurant open till a bit late coz many times when I try to order it shows that the restaurant is closed already. I am giving them 4 stars for the portions and the customer service I received...
