SANATIO SPA Japan — Local services in Vancouver

I had first discovered Sanatio 2 years ago and visited a few times. I was impressed with the service and referred some of my cousins as well.

Since I started attending a spa closer to home it’s been awhile since I booked at Sanatio but I thought I’d have a face massage for my birthday last week. I believe Miku was my therapist. I did not feel any difference after the massage, except I suddenly had a little headache (which ended up lasting for a few days). Oddly, I found the pressure of the massage to be super light. I there were a few other things that went wrong with my appointment such as confusion about the type of appointment I had booked. Miku offered me to come back the following week and have the treatment repeated by the owner. I thought this was a kind gesture.

However when I attended my appointment the owner was visibly upset that the appointment was being repeated. She was cold and defensive explaining to me that the treatment was done correctly the first time. She also kept pointing out that I only had 3 previous appointments and that I have not been there for 2 years. Her tone suggested that I am not a valued client since I do not book regularly. She was clearly upset and because of this I felt uncomfortable during the treatment.

As an aside, I actually ended up breaking out with a lot of acne the day following the treatment and I think it’s because she had used quite a lot of coconut oil in my face during the treatment.

It’s too bad that this experience did not live up to the expectations set from my prior visits...

It’s a beautiful and calming spa with incredible top notch service. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with the results of a lash lift, even though I paid extra to have it done by the expert technician. Maybe this was just a fluke since it doesn’t seem like others have had the same issue, and I normally wouldn’t leave such a low review but I felt the results of my lash lift were quite poor.

Only the lashes on my left eye were properly curled. The right side was barely lifted, which left me with an uneven look that was hard to fix at home. On top of that, the lashes on my left eye were over processed. Even after more than three months, they are still crimped and growing in different directions.

I just wanted to share my experience. It seems like no one else has gone through this so I hope everyone else continues to have better results. Everything else was perfect and I even fell asleep during the lash lift because I was so relaxed.

Update: Since the review, the team has been very kind and professional. I want to mention that I really believe my experience was just a one time mishap but thought it was important to share. The team and salon in general are really impressive...

We purchased groupons just before pandemic, Sanatio was kind enough and flexible to change the service dates till later. We had Mika at first, her professional services was excellent, met our expectation. The spa was clean and totally felt safe during pandemic. The body massage that both my hubby & I had with Mika were great, to the points and we both felt relax and enjoyed it very much. I had Shiyo for both facial & body massage last week. Again, Sanatio Spa still is not failing at all. The place still remains so neat and clean and professional. Shiyo's kind customer services and attitude did draw me to come back. She has a great skill on body massage and provided a good pressure point massage, I completely felt so comfortable and relax after. It was my very first time trying the Japanese facial and that's my intent to get that groupon. It felt so good and Shiyo explained the process and she warmed up the facial cupping devices and made me feel so serene after all. Thanks to Mika & Shiyo and...
