Green Lemongrass Vietnamese Cuisine is a quaint Vietnamese restaurant located in Kensington. The restaurant looks like it's been renovated to look quite modern but there are still the traditional touches that set the mood.

Parking might be at a premium here but there is both parking in front of restaurant, at the back, and on the street. Street parking is generally really busy so your best bet would be either in front (via plaza parking) or in the back. This restaurant is big and will easily sit over 60 people so it is unlikely you'll ever need to wait.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted and told to sit where ever we wanted. We sat down at our seats and they had our tea and menus in hand. The restaurant only had two other tables so the wait staff were quick and eager to get our order. We ordered the Springs Rolls, Salad Rolls, a large House Special Pho. The food came almost instantaneously (less than 5 minutes!).

The pho comes with a side of uncooked bean sprouts, basil, slice of lemon, and a red chili pepper. The House Special itself has basically every topping possible including, rare beef, cooked beef, tendon, tripe, and beef balls. The broth was nice and tasted well rounded. The soup itself isn't scolding hot which was great as you could dig right into it. Everything taste good in this dish but it was pretty standard fare.

The Spring Rolls were hot off the deep fryer. The outer crust was crunchy with an amazing juicy filling. It was cooked perfectly and the filling was equally on point. When dipped with the fish sauce, it tastes even better. As a bonus, the fish sauce will cool the spring rolls down so that you can bite right into them. You might still burn your tongue so be careful.

The Salad Roll was nicely prepared as was the peanut sauce that comes with it. There was a nice thin outer shell with freshly prepared filling on the inside. Everything tasted fresh from the lettuce to the shrimp.

Service was good and attentive. Our servers helped us whenever we needed their attention and they were quick to bring us bowls once they knew we were sharing. They even checked up on us mid meal to make sure everything was alright.

Overall, Green Lemongrass Vietnamese Cuisine is good. The pho was good but again it did not really separate itself from other Vietnamese places we've been. The spring rolls, however, were amazing.

We would definitely recommend trying the spring rolls here. They are one of the best...

My boyfriend and I have been coming here every 1-2 months for the last 2 years and we think it’s the best place to eat pho in Vancouver (out of the 4 places that we’ve tried). We always get the vegetarian pho (the broth is not vegetarian though) and it has a very good flavour. Only thing is that I wish they had separate small and large bowl sizes, because I can never finish the one size they offer and I feel bad that they have to throw away so many ingredients! They have a nice vegetarian menu with quite a few options. The spring rolls are very good and one of my favourite meals is the Monk’s Curry. They have coconut water that they serve out of a coconut, as well as some yummy shakes. Pricing is fair and wait time for food is 10-20 minutes. Staff is nice. We always get seated right away, but we do generally eat here before evening so it may be busier later. Overall good place to eat if you like pho and Vietnamese food, and if you...

Same owner as its namefellow in Richmond. Lots of regulars here. Once you push the door open, you will be greeted by an aquarium overgrown with plants but contains no fish. Then you step in to the property and cross over to a zen, ancient oriental world. They have some interesting items on the menu such as "minced crab soup noodle" or "beef satay soup noodle". Generous portion, yummy spring rolls. Choices of condiments abound, including the staples sriracha and hoi san sauce, two kinds of hot chili pepper paste, and fish sauce. Spicy soup noodle is very rich in flavour and loaded with sliced beef, meat balls, pork blood and luncheon meat. Overall very clean, but I regret to report that we found an alien object in the soup... it appeared to be a shred of plastic material, likely harmless, but it could not be definitively identified. The owner was very nice and waived that bowl for us.

I’ve eaten here before, and it’s usually pretty good. Tonight however, we ordered it through skip the dishes, and it arrived well packed and warm. While eating, I actually noticed the black part and just assumed it was part of the meal. It didn’t look out of place or foreign... Bite goes in, and it turns out it’s a thin metal wire, as though it’s from a wire brush. It poked the roof of my mouth and hurt a lot! Upon spitting it all out in discovered what it was, and then put it “back” in the dish to take the photo below. Too bad, I want to support local businesses - but can’t ignore how dangerous this would have been if I swallowed it and it perforated my stomach or intestines... 2 stars - cause the food taste good until this point - but couldn’t eat anymore as I didn’t trust it.

I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this place as it is so special. At the same time, if you haven’t experienced this place you haven’t lived yet….The service/food quality and overall experience is next to none. The owners here care so much about the quality of food and the experience you have while you are here that it stands out so much in Vancouver. I couldn’t give a higher level of recommendation for this place, but I still hope I can get a table after people start realizing the high level of enjoyment and quality of food and experience here….There are definitely not many places that exist in Vancouver like this and if there were, there would be no home cooking at all. Just saying. 🙌 Also the orange juice is freshly squeezed….I’m not worthy….haha
