Honestly easily some of the best fried chicken I have had in awhile! I am at a lost for words on where to start so I will begin from the beginning. I read some other reviews beforehand that there will be long lines, so I decided to show up 30 minutes beforehand. While I was standing, I overheard a gentleman talking about his positive experience with this joint beforehand. Now with high hopes, I entered and placed, got my temperature checked, and ordered. My order consisting of: 1 Classic Range (with bone) with half of it being original, half swicy, 1 order of drumsticks snowing cheese flavor, and some Shack Shack fries. The wait for the food was about 30 minutes which was one of the two downsides I had with this place, but didn't care as long as the food was delicious. When I arrived home with the food and took my first bite, a burst of flavors rushed through my mouth. Texture was on point, not greasy at all and very juicy. The Swicy was slightly acidic and is lacking a bit of spice (which is ok because it had the same positive impact as the original). The next thing that got my attention was the Snowing Cheese flavored drumsticks. First bite in and I was instantly hooked with that juicy chicken, crispy skin, and the cheese flavoring. Lastly the sides that came with the order were pickled radishes and the Shack Shack fries (shake fries). The first thing I went for is the fries which honestly, was the only mediocre thing in my entire order due to the lack of crisp. It has the same flavoring to the Snowing Cheese which was alright. Lastly I tried the radishes and it acted like a good pallet cleanser for your taste buds (its pickled radishes, what do you expect?). Overall a very good experience and would recommend to others! PS: If you are worried if the sauce/powder coating doesn't coat the chicken all the way, it does from...
Read moreWow. That was really good. They've only been open for a few days, but the line was pretty long. I have attached pictures at about 2pm on Saturday. We tried 4 kinds of chicken: original, swicy, snowing cheese, and soy garlic. With the original you can really appreciate how nice and crispy the batter is, without being hard. The chicken inside is also very juicy and tasty. The swicy is more sweet than spicy. I'd say low on the spicy scale, but very tasty. I liked the snowing cheese much more than I thought I would. It has a little sweetness in addition to the cheesy flavour, which me and my family really liked. Finally, the soy garlic was actually the favorite of most of my family. It is also a bit sweet, but has a nice flavour to it. It is also about as spicy, or maybe spicier than the swicy if you just have the sauce by itself. We also had some onion rings and shack shack fries. The onion rings, like the original chicken, showcase how good their batter is. Spot on crispiness. The fries, once shaken with the snowing cheese powder were really good. Again, a bit of sweetness and cheesiness. It reminds me of the cheese powder on hurricane potatoes (rotato). The packaging is unique, and they include wet naps and thumb&finger gloves so you can pick up the chicken without getting your fingers all saucy. They are working as fast as they can, so I hope they will find ways to speed up the process to serve more customers faster. Overall, I was impressed, and I'm glad this chain is in Vancouver. I hope they open one closer to...
Read moreJust like the other review(s) on here, my Hot Bling chicken burger was made up of several smaller pieces of chicken that tasted and felt like it was left under the warmer too long. It was dry, slightly rubbery, and oddly lacked flavor, maybe because of the sauce. It was weirdly more on the sweet side than spicy, I think whoever was working that night used the wrong sauce and then just added the hot sauce on top? I didn't like it. The sweet sauce was overpowering, it wasn't spicy, and only got a single pickle. I ordered this around 8:30pm on a Wednesday. Store closes at 11 so I would've understood if they didn't wanna make a fresh batch or whatever if I had ordered later... Honestly McDonald's would have been a better choice. They're meh but at least they're consistently meh it's good. Lol. But I live in the neighborhood and can easily pick up my food instead of paying a delivery fee.
I've ordered this before and it was by far one of the best chicken burgers I've had then. It was a singular piece of chicken perfectly freshly fried and juicy. What happened??? I'm hoping it was a one time thing and the next time I order this again it's at least better than what I got this time
TLDR; my burger sucked this time around
2 stars for the overly sweet sauce I wasn't expecting
3 stars for service only because I picked up my takeout order, I ordered in advance using Uber Eats so not much interaction
5 stars for atmo because hey, at least the interior is kept clean and it's...
