More reviews: ig handle—sneha_speaks As a Montrealer who recently moved to Vancouver, I was intrigued to try L’Atelier Patisserie, a cafe that seemed to promise the charm of a French bakery with a West Coast twist. Here’s my take: The ambiance is one of the standout features. Bright, aesthetic, and inviting, it’s a lovely place to relax, study, or grab a coffee with friends. It opens early, and has a family-friendly vibe. It’s probably the prettiest cafe in the neighborhood. The coffee and pastries are decent but not extraordinary. The croissant is good—better if they warm it up—and the coffee has plenty of flavor options. However, the desserts, while beautifully presented, were hit or miss. The flan was soggy, the cinnamon roll lacked cinnamon flavor, and the pastry was overly sweet and lacked depth. The avocado toast was a highlight—fresh and well-prepared, but overpriced for its quantity. The lunch menu, also was disappointing. Limited options plus felt overpriced and underwhelming. As someone used to Montreal’s boulangeries, where a full and satisfying baguette sandwich is standard and typically satiates me for the day, this left me underfed. The baguette sandwich was particularly bad — the baguette was hard and overly starchy, with sparse filling that failed to balance the bread. I was chewing plain bread?? For a French-inspired patisserie, the baking quality really needs improvement. Overall, L’Atelier Patisserie is a visually stunning cafe with potential, but the quality and quantity of its food don’t quite measure up, especially for someone used to the high standards of Montreal bakeries. I’d recommend it for the vibe and a casual coffee, but not for a satisfying French culinary experience.

I’ve been here a few times. In short, I would say the food and drink are really good but can be overpriced. An iced matcha latte with nondairy milk comes to $7.7 (+$.5 for ice, +$1 for alt milk) the vegetable toast, which is made on a single slice of sourdough, is $14. The pastries aren’t cheap either, but the delicate craftsmanship involved makes it more justifiable. But as I said, if you aren’t bothered by the prices, the stuff is really good. I like that their veggie toast is something different from the ubiquitous avocado toast, instead featuring briny artichoke hearts and tomatoes on an herby spread. The entremets are rich in flavour and have a nice medley of textures. And I was really impressed by their raisin bun, which was very flaky with a custardy inside. The matcha latte is not really $8 matcha, but it’s good, among the better coffee shop matchas, and their tea bags are good quality. Espresso drinks are good - not a standout but nothing to complain about either, but I’ve only had the decaf. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The baristas are always friendly and willing to answer questions. The shop has a warm and rustic feel, and although this is not one of those French bakeries where the Frenchness is very in your face, I can almost imagine this place in a little French town where the pace is a little slower. On that note, its not a spot to camp out and work because they have a 45 minute seating limit. It’s not a huge place and tends to be busy so I’m glad they’ve implemented this, and service is pretty fast, so this is plenty of time to eat and unwind.

Amazing collection of pastries and brunch sandwiches. I tried pain chocolat, pan Swiss, laminated brioche and breakfast sando and a sweet that I don’t remember the name of which was actually the only thing that I didn’t like. I loved every item I got except the one that I don’t remember the name of and I would recommend laminated brioche the highest. I had to get 3 of those because my 3 year old son devoured them as soon as I got it so I had to get 2 for him so he let me enjoy mine!! Oh btw the cappuccino and latte was world class. Loved how fresh and aromatic it was. Update: I loved the laminated brioche so much that I came back again alone to enjoy it to the fullest it was amazing again. I also tried pan Swiss again and tried a new item: Ciabatta. I wasn’t the fan of the ciabatta especially the soggy grilled lettuce was not appetizing at all and the best thing about that sandwich was eating the bread by itself. I would recommend breakfast sando over ciabatta every time.

It says “did you dine in? ,take out ? Or get delivery? Well I live so close I never even thought about it. oddity type vibe and it’s nothing to do ..with the-staff. For instance I always get a London Fogge. They make it good enough but she made it for me in a small cup! I get a venti .. because I was not aware they had different sizes. The biggest caveat to me ,(and I wish I was joking) .. but I am yet to have anything that I can say I’ve really enjoyed. What is up w/ that? At least a dozen times I’ve been there and I’ve tried the pastries, thecrossoints and even the ice cream. ALL of it I found very average. The croissant was probably the best. I hated to write this but it had to be said Don’t be afraid to change, add or subtract items on the ( in my opinion) .. very limited menu Now that I thought about it, delivery .? that’d be nice. I mean, Starbucks does and why not? I really wish this could be a stellar revue because I really like the place ( & even have a wee crush on one of the girls that blushed wen she gave me my tea. ..but I’ve just gotten an oddity vibe from it. I don’t even think they play music there.. in fact, I don’t know if they do , but boy I would have an earful of suggestions.. 4 you off the top of my head how about live entertainment? I would play there for free. I’ve had fruit plates, compliments and accolades of people tell me how much they enjoyed the live music. I’m NOT looking for a job..( you couldn’t afford me💲hahaha) lol thanks...
