We had a spectacular experience at La Terrazza celebrating March birthdays.
Service: From the point we arrived to our departure, the service was professional, friendly and welcoming. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had recommended refreshing drinks, a good variety of appetizers and entrees. She kept our water glasses filled throughout the night.
Food: Appetizers:
Burrata and Beet insalata: this refreshing vinaigrette salad with Italian Burrata and colourful beet slices was my favourite appetizer. The combination of flavours were perfectly balanced.
Calamari: the grilled Humbolt squid steak, and crispy calamari rings, was well done with the jalapeno lime reduction. A very flavourful dish.
Beef Carpaccio: thinly sliced raw Angus Reserve beef tenderloin came with crispy capers, black truffle vinaigrette, shaved asiago, and served with warm fontina flatbread.
Entrees: Veal chop: a rarely seen generous cut of meat that was served grilled and topped with a peppercorn sauce. The sour cream pomme purée and peas were a nice accompaniment.
Rack of lamb: this super tender Australian lamb entree was beautifully presented with root vegetables and greens.
Chicken Marsala: this organic chicken breast was dressed with a delicious mushroom sauce. A side order of tasty Truffle fries went perfectly with this dish.
Dessert: We enjoyed a stunning assortment of hand crafted desserts was prepared by the talented resident pastry chef, Ally. The combination of flavours, textures and visual appeal made every bite memorable.
My favourites were the lavender white chocolate dessert (new on the menu), that came with a fun coloured cream choux puff pastry balanced on top.
The classic crème brûlée and tiramisu were also stand outs for me as they were velvety smooth and packed with flavour.
Summary: Overall, La Terrazza is a fabulous place with an extensive wine and food menu where everyone can find something...
Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTED. My girlfriend and I came here pre Covid and had a wonderful time so we decided this year to celebrate my birthday we would come here again. We were really looking forward to dinner. However, I ended up sick and tested positive for Covid. Obviously, we did the responsible thing and decided to postpone our dinner to the following week so instead of cancelling we just moved our reservation. My girlfriend noticed that they still charged her $50 on her credit card. After speaking with them on the phone and explaining that we did not cancel but just modified our reservation, they pretty much said too bad and took our money anyways. We are completely turned off by the lack of empathy and hospitality from this restaurant. We both come from the food/hospitality industry and understand that we live in a time where we must do our part in keeping staff and other patrons safe from spreading Covid and if this restaurant wants to keep our $50 for being honest and doing just that for them then so be it. But that will be last amount of money they ever get from us again.
UPDATE: I regret to inform that when La Terrazza told me to email them so they can rectify the situation, that they did not in fact rectify the situation. But merely took this opportunity to blame my friend and I behind public view and take no responsibility themselves. Instead of coming to me with compassion and professionalism, the General Manager stated that she was disheartened by the negative review because it was forever on there and that she could refund us back but simply would not. Little does she know that I am able to change and edit my review. It is unfortunate that I am not changing my one star to a five star but in fact wish I could give ZERO stars. It is also unfortunate that my friend and I will no longer be recommending La Terrazza to friends, family or hospitality patrons across the various sectors we are...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and very classy. They even had a Harpist for the evening. She was incredible. For the evening they served an exceptional four course menu, but this is not the main reason why I highly recommend going here. Although the food was amazing we couldn't eat another bite and got the rest to go. Now I used to be in the hospitality industry for over 12 years and I believe the true measure of an establishment is not if they happen to make minor mistakes here and there but it's how they handle them when they do. When we got home we discovered they actually gave us the wrong to go food. Here's where this place shows how world class it is. Their incredible manager, Teresa not only was sincerely apologetic for the mishap but she encouraged us to come back so they could make up for it. This shows me multiple things: 1- They have true professionals running the establishment 2- They have pride and confidence in their brand and product 3- They care. 3 is the biggest element in such a tough industry like the hospitality industry. If you dont care it reflects in the service, food, and even the atmosphere. We came back and to our pleasant surprise Teresa greeted us at our table. Just a class act all around. The food was to die for like the previous time, and we had a waiter, named Tyler that made our time there even more enjoyable. He was not only professional but kind, and engaging. It was not just a dinner, because of Tyler it was an experience. Teresa took care of us even more than we thought she would, making up for that mishap awhile back and because of all this we will be returning again and again. In a city flooded with amazing restaurants I say La Terrazza is a must! It's one of the shining stars in this...
