The front desk lady is quite something. I walk into the store up to the counter and there is no one else in line. She takes 10 full minutes to finish off her current tasks before assisting me with my order. Once I placed my order, the food took over 30 minutes to complete. They were prioritizing Doordash and Uber eats orders over most of their in store customers. After waiting for about 20 minutes, she told me to take a seat and I did not take this offer as the restaurant is quite small and not covid friendly. My food is finished and I see the box on the counter and then she openly talks sht about how i wouldnt sit down because she told me to. Proceeds to do everything else she needs to do with her life and then finally give me the food that has been sitting on the counter for probably over 5 minutes.
Absolute waste of time and money, order Uber eats next time and save yourself the terrible customer service.
Edit:
This happened today at 1:10pm, you can ask the front desk lady and the guys pulling the noodles in the front window about how she openly talks sht about her customers in front of their face. Food arrived on the counter and she purposely ignored the food, took every other customer's order, then proceeded to talk sht about me to the guy pulling the noodles openly and loudly enough so I can hear it and then gave me my food.
Edit #2:
Her exactly words except in Mandarin "I asked the guy to sit down but he didnt listen, complaining about how long the food will take, he can wait while I help all the...
Read moreI took my wife and kids to eat here after deciding on noodles for dinner. Years ago, she used to eat at their other location which was very good. I have no idea what happened. Maybe an ownership change? No idea.
We ordered the cumin lamb cut noodle dish, a flat noodle peanut bowl with chicken, and beef rolls. They ranged from kinda gross to okay. Nothing was actually good. The beef rolls and peanut noodle dish were lukewarm, verging on cold. The rolls were poorly wrapped and seemed to be a weird attempt at reconstructing a Big Mac (I know this is a thing in asian food but this was bad). Nothing tasted fresh. The greens were old and mushy. The peanut sauce was watery and needed salt. The chicken had a nasty texture that I can only describe as a cook's close decision between serving or composting. We complained about the chicken and they removed it from the plate and our bill which felt like a "No, you're wrong but okay, we'll entertain you." The cumin lamb was fine. Warmer than everything else and maintained semblance of the noodles we came for. Fine at best. I felt queezy when I got home and hurled it all up.
The space is nice and clean. The server was also very kind and tried to accommodate our young family. She also seemed like she wanted do more about our compaint but was trapped in her bosses policy to make this experience what it was: legendary. I just don't think that's what they meant when they...
Read moreFantastic. 6 stars. Incredible Chinese food, some of which you'll never find even in Richmond. Amazing ambience, nice friendly staff. Kudos to the chef and cooks especially, amazing balance of flavours and ingredients. Wonderful. Kudos for the special discount for VGH and healthcare workers.
The food is mostly from North China, Lanzhou area. They have a nice variety of appetizers, noodles and rice dishes. I ordered the chao shou, which are chicken dumplings in a peanut soup. Simply out of this world! Never had anything like this. Definitely recommend. Also the pancakes which are thin and crispy with scallions. Though it was salty for me, definitely recommend that too. They also serve beers and Chinese rice wine (like sake) although it wasn't hot.
Liked the fact that menu is amazingly designed with pictures and ingredients mentioned for each item with price too. Definitely recommend dinein as I don't think they have delivery option on apps. The ambience is incredible and they've put in lot of effort and thought into the design and interiors. Coffee is also available via an Italian machine.
For sure will recommend and definitely repeat! They are only open for 3 hours each in the early afternoon...
