We decided to stop in for a quick bite before visiting the dentist. I have walked by here many many times and this is the first time we have actually eaten here. The space is small-ish but the tables are well separated and it is very clean inside. The service is prompt, courteous and the food arrives from the kitchen very quickly. You can sit and look inside if you’d like. I had the beef special fried rice and it was excellent. My wife had the sushi special and it was also very delicious. The price point was very reasonable (under $30 for lunch for two people). As an added bonus Michael Buble and his wife were eating for their first time as well. He was very friendly and congenial.

First time eating here and it's pretty good! I like how the takoyaki is crispy on the outside and soft inside. The chicken teriyaki was delicious as well and I am happy that there's a brown rice option! The first time I came here the brown rice was a tiny amount (this was during covid) and so I wasn't too impressed. But since then, the portion of the rice is much larger and much better! The salmon sashimi was nice and fresh. The avocado salad dressing was creamy and veggies were crispy. Service was great and covid protocols all in place. They offer a few tables and chairs outside so you are able to eat your food there.

We just had lunch here and it was great. The food was reasonable and so the price. I read many reviews about the food is not good. But to be fair it’s hard to do fine dinning in the area. I didn’t expect much for the 10-12$ a dish. It’s good for lunch and quick service. The owner said they have been around for 25 years. Wow, that’s amazing. I know it’s tough to be around for that long. The owner is very friendly and it’s recommended.

We had 2 lunch specials.

Price was great. $8 for tuna maki, salmon maki, cucumber maki, miso soup and tea.$9 for California roll, BC roll, mixed vegetable roll, miso soup and tea.

I am from Japan and I have eaten at many sushi restaurants around the world. And I think I am quite open minded about taste of sushi compared to some "foodie" people in North America.

Sushi rice was rather sour kind than sweet kind. Rice was rather easy-to-fall-apart side than sticky starchy kind. Salmon was more like trout kind than fat Atlantic kind. I loved how they did the California roll. Their BC roll was sweet and meaty. I liked that, too. and the vegetable roll had so much ingredients in it! Miso soup tasted good. Just like other Japanese restaurants, it tasted like dashi powder with MSG(umami) than natural umami flavors. Tea was tasty, too :)

The table that we were taken to was not the cleanest. There was a small spill from soy sauce, and there was a grain of rice on the menu. That's the ONLY downside of everything we got there. During this time, I didn't expect to see that, so it was a little bit surprising. The service was great even though there was only one server technically and she was busy with the other orders they have been getting constantly. I was actually very surprised by the speed of service and food we got there.

I would definitely come eat here 3, 4 times in a week if I lived closer!!! Their lunch is definitely a good value...

I went to have lunch today. The waiter was very rude that you asked for a spoon, she were not help you right away. Then if you asked again, she were rude to speak loudly and said I am busy. Seriously, she wasn’t such busy to have problem to give me the spoon immediately at all. Especially my seat was really closed to the place which storage the spoon. Another customer who saw the situation, she was surprised the waiter’s attitude as well. When I asked for the bill, another waiter was let me waited till someone after me to take the bill actually. And she was not even to give me my receipt and not greed to me at lease good bye at all. And the food taste really not good.

Bad server, food not really taste good as other Japeness restaurants. I strongly don’t recommend this one. The server was rude to me few times in my first experience here. I will never come to this...

Disappointing and food was below average.

Service is decent.

Price seems fair at first until your food arrives. I watched the cook take out a NONAME bag of frozen vegetables and hoped it wasn't going into my curry but It did.

Sadly, they used jasmine rice as opposed to Japanese sushi rice. It was clumpy and way over cooked. The curry did not have any flavor other than the packet mixed dissolved in water. The frozen veggies did not have enough time to absorb any of the premade curry flavors.

I normally take pictures of food but this was one I'd rather forget and unwilling to share with family and friends. In hindsight, I should've taken it for future potential customers.

As far as Vancouver grade, fail. Even compared to other places, fail.

I...
