So on my trip to Vancouver, this was a stop that I really wanted to go to. It had great reviews and even my guide on one of the many food tours I went on said this place was great. My wife had the peanut curry with chicken (though they forgot to add the chicken) and I had the Szechuan chicken. The peanut dish was very one dimensional, though the beans were grilled very well. My dish was good with spicy notes and not an overly sweet sauce you would find at a local take out. Overall, something I enjoyed but wouldn't have again as I would try something else on the menu. The best part of the meal was the house tea(but be warned about buying it)!!! My wife wanted to have some hot tea as her throat was a little sore, so we decided that the house tea sounded good. The longer this tea sat, the more it bloomed. No bitterness, just wonderful flavors. It was so good, I asked if they sell the tea on its own. Though they were out, the waitress said she could make up some bags. Here is the one downside of the whole experience (where it lost the 4th star) is while I unpacked the tea back home in Charlotte, NC. A lot of the bags were very randomly filled with no care of the ratios of how each part of the tea combination made the whole. Most of them were 80% rock sugar. Of the 10 I thought I purchased, I got 9. I took pictures of 1 good filled bag and the others are showing just 80% sugar. I also took a picture of what the tea looked like in their tea pot. They said that was equivalent to a double portion. I really wished I checked this before leaving the restaurant 😢. It was such great tea.

This place is like an abusive relationship you keep going back to because it was so good in the beginning you can't help yourself! They used to win awards for their food, everything was delicious and consistent. Now the only consistent thing about it is the mistakes and bad service! And the gas lighting! I'm addicted to their hot and sour dumpling soup. It used to be full of vegetables and 6 dumplings. Then they decided to secretly change it to noodles (they won't admit it) now its 4 dumplings AND noodles (and almost no vegetables). Don't bother asking for no noodles all dumplings, they won't get it right. One month they were putting "off" bamboo shoots in and they said I just didn't like bamboo shoots (I just kept ordering it and picking them out until they bought fresh bamboo). For about a year it tasted like an entire bottle of worchestershire, Id add water and vinegar and chili crisp and hope it would get better eventually! It's been 5 years sinse it's been good. Yesterday I paid for extra dumplings and what did they give me? Shrimp wonton! They'd probably swear that's how the dish always comes! So, I'm breaking up with you Legendary Noodle (don't get me started on your $3 for 3 tiny pieces of meat add on). If anyone knows where I can find a consistently good dependable hot and sour dumpling soup I'd really appreciate it.

A coolish Vancouver evening was warmed by delicious Legendary Noodle Soups. The restaurant is extremely tiny inside however we lucked out and got the last of the wooden benched tables to dine in at. There was one server and she was run off her feet. She had a smile the entire time and provided us with excellent service. Everything came very promptly. We ordered Beef Oxtail Soup and Noodle Dumpling Soup. Noodles are homemade and you have your choice of size (thin/thick or flat). They were perfectly cooked while the broth flavours were well balanced. The five dumplings in amongst the noodles were chewy and flavourful. Additional chilli oil and soy sauce were available to add at the table. The soup was surprisingly filling. Only complaint was that my bowl had several chips in it and should have been taken out of service. Otherwise ā€œ5ā€ stars. Will definitely be back to try more Legendary Noodle dishes on my next visit to Vancouver!

I visit them based on the reviews, but I come to regret it. Worse experience in long time. I arrived just as they opened, so it was empty but become packed very quick. The server was very busy, thus the service very slow. The spiced oil jar was empty, same for the soy sauce. After waiting for a while to get their attention (like 10min or so), I had to go in the front and show them the empty spiced oil jar. Took them another 5 min to bring me a replacement. The replacement was taken from another table and was holding abut 1/2 inch at the bottom of another dirty jar. My food was already cold at that point. Noodles made in house? yes, but I found the food being bland and not particularly tasty. Anyway, there were a couple of more hiccups and at the and I asked for the bill. I was looking to tip 10% as I wasn't at all happy. To my surprise, 15% was already added to the bill and the terminal handed to me to pay with the credit card was asking me to make my choice between several options of other tips starting at 15% and not a word about the other 15% already added. So, you go there and you should tip 30% by default I imagine... I got pistoff. I intended to tip 10, but at this point I said I want to pay only the bill and the food and drinks that I had. Sorry, we can't remove the tip, you have to pay that. How come? It is added automatically as you ordered so many dishes and the kitchen is more busy and you have to pay for that... Soo many dishes? It was a family out thing. two adults, three little ones. We had 3 junior meals and three other full sizes dishes. I hardly can call this "many dishes". Usually the tip is added automatically when you are a party of 6 or 8 or more, depends by the number of persons served, not dishes out. Finally they found a way to remove the tip. I paid the bill and that's it. Not coming again ever. I was not impressed by the food and the...

I always appreciate when I see owners responding to reviews. I don’t know how to respond to your response so I’ll edit my original review here…

My wife and I tried legendary noodle for the first time for take out and received a pretty poor quality order. I didn’t feel the need to slander your business publicly with details since it may have been a one-off occurrence so I simply left 1 star to reflect the quality of our one and only experience. But thank you for asking…

To summarize, we ordered the beef spinach soup, chicken wok fried noodles and xia jiao shrimp dumplings. The wok fried noodles were passable but not all that flavourful. Had this been the only dish I would say 3.5/5 stars? More toppings would bring it to 4 or 5 stars as the noodles were pretty good- but made up of 90% of the dish. We actually didn’t even eat the soup at all because the broth was like a bland grassy taste and the beef was mostly just pieces of chewy fat. The dumplings just had me confused. When I opened the box they had each fallen apart with the inside shrimp balls as the only loose edible part while the outer wrappings of every dumpling had stuck to the sides of the box like melted plastic would to a cardboard box and couldn’t be peeled off to even eat. I should have taken photos but I just ate the shrimp insides and we shared the wok noodles and threw out the soup. Hopefully this was all just a one time thing since your other reviewers...
