Mapo Pancake House, located in the heart of Vancouver, is a breakfast loverās paradise. Its inviting ambience exudes a cozy, homely vibe that instantly puts one at ease, while the efficient staff ensure an effortlessly pleasant dining experience.
The star of the show, of course, is the pancakes. They are fluffy, light, and cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of crispness on the outside and tender softness on the inside. Whether you opt for classic buttermilk pancakes, or try one of the unique, creative renditions like the matcha pancakes or the banana walnut pancakes, youāre in for a treat.
Mapo Pancake House, however, isnāt just about pancakes. Their full-bodied coffee pairs excellently with their breakfast offerings, and their selection of omelettes and waffles are equally delectable and worth trying. The bacon is notably crispy, and the hash browns are golden and well-seasoned.
The restaurant also accommodates dietary restrictions, offering a variety of gluten-free and vegan options. The vegan pancakes, in particular, are a delightful surprise - as fluffy and flavorful as their classic counterparts.
Service is attentive, friendly, and efficient, and the servers often go out of their way to make sure youāre having the best possible dining experience. In these uncertain times, the restaurant also pays careful attention to health and safety regulations, making for a worry-free visit.
All in all, Mapo Pancake House is an excellent choice for breakfast or brunch in Vancouver - a place where quality, comfort, and deliciousness meet. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited this restaurant Friday night, thereās only 2 out of 15 tables were taken, and my friend wanna seat beside the window at a four seats table, itās been told itās only for four people, we thought okay it might because there will be more people coming later, however till we leave, thereās only three tables of guests including us. We ordered a pancake each and one drink, my friend want some grape drinks which they donāt provide, so I went to the Korean superstore beside and bought the drinks, and found out thereās a fish cake and also bought it. However, when I went back, I been told outside food and beverages are not allowed, thereās none of the signs mentioned about that. I can understand why but it still realize how bad the problem solving is at this restaurant. Servers are fine, not too bad and not so good, food is fine, cheese corn is salty instead of sweet, but Iām just surprise that how inflexible they are when problem happening. We went to a Japanese ramen place later, and the place is crowded, but the server lead us to a four seats table without asking. And thatās the difference. Will not recommend this restaurant and will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately was quite disappointed with the jeons here. We were so excited to come because pancakes and rice wine are our favorite. It was such a staple for us when we were in Korea. But the jeons here are (1) overpriced ā $15 for 2 small jeons (2) oily (3) quality did not reflect price asked for.
The mushroom jeon we got wasnāt even a pancake, just scattered mushrooms with batter that tasted like eggs (so a deconstructed omelette essentially) and it cost $10.
The makegeolli is great though. Although it was disappointing that they ran out of regular makegeolli at 7PM when makegeolli is their business model. Iāve had a lot of makegeolli from Lees Bros Winery and the regular one is the best. Since they ran out of makgeolli and the food was subpar, we were still hungry so decided to go to Elisa to supplement our disappointment.
I really wanted to like this place because I love the concept they have so much. But the quality just isnāt there with the prices theyāre asking for. Especially compared to the jeon they serve in Korea when we were there and the jeon you can get at any korean restaurant in coquitlam for...
