I never write these things, but this incident was particularly bad; The long and the short of it, my boyfriend and I had gone to this branch last night (Tuesday evening), we both work very long days and dealt with a lot of people, so we decided to use the digital ordering kiosk, I has ordered the chicken maple burger with some parmasean fries, and my boyfriend had ordered the angus with poutine on a separate kiosk. Within a couple minutes, I had my order come out. The guy serving me called my number, he seemed a little uncertain as he passed me the to-go bag, but shrugged it off and went back to the back of the kitchen. About 5-10 minutes pass, eventually another worker leans over the counter and asks my boyfriend “you waiting for something??”, my boyfriend said he was, showed the kid the receipt, and imidiately everyone behind the counter looked confused. About 3 minutes later another bag came out from the assembly line, they handed it to him, and called it a day. On our way out I looked back at the counter and saw the group talking about some orders and throwing out a “missed order”, didn’t think too much of it, just that they seemed really disorganized, especially considering how quiet the store was. My boyfriend and I get home and sat down to eat, I opened my bag, and said “Oh, this must be yours,”, as inside, there was an angus with poutine, he opens his bag, and immediately goes “they f* up...”, so I look over at his bag, and it’s also an angus with poutine... He and I then began to discuss how they messed up two simple orders, especially written and numbered orders from a kiosk. I work in customer service now and have been since I was 14 (6 years total) and I’ve definitely had off nights, but never one that substantial. I couldn’t help but wonder how bad that would have been if I were someone with an allergy to beef, and lost an entire meal to their incompetence, and in take out, not exactly something you can just take back once you’ve left. I won’t be returning to this branch on an early week night. The entire staff are snippy 16 year olds, and their supervisor is entirely checked out....
Read moreMcDonald's has one of the worst trends of putting in please that have little skill in the most busiest places within the the business of dealing with people and money as an example if you gone through drive-thru you'll understand this one so you pay for your your goods and then you get your receipt when you get your food I said well how am I supposed to know if I got the right change if I'm getting my money now and my receipt later I can't you know handle both at the same time makes no sense if you're going to give it the person their money you should give them the receipt at the same time so they can verify the money they're getting is adequate and correct whereas if you're giving their food and their receipt at the same time how are you supposed to check your money and your receipt if you have food in your hands and you're in the Drive-Thru so if it's wrong now you have to park get out go back into the store and then wait even longer to get your money or the right items of food that were not given in the first place I know I may sound a little hard on some people but really it makes no sense to put somebody in a high volume area of the business if they can't speak fluent English the language of the country and they don't understand the orders being given to them it only makes for an environment of conflict and frustration on both sides my advice was and still is that people that have varying degrees of English skills should be paired up with someone who has fluent English they can help guide them into teaching them how to deal with the orders better and help strengthen their skills rather than leaving them alone and basically defending themselves by themselves but that's just my opinion McDonald's is long gone to the dogs many years ago I don't even know why I go there and be honest probably cuz it's cheap mostly it's not certainly not...
Read moreAs far as McDonalds go, this is one of the best ive experience in a long time. It is Nov 13th 2016 in the afternoon. Its not terribly busy, theres 2 floors with the upstairs hosting one of the rare play places, and the service is on point.
I walked in, saw the digital ordering kiosks. I love how amazingly powerful they are. Dont forget that you can tap on an order and hit "Customize" to go crazy with the most granular possible nit picky stuff you can think of. Today the "Build Your Taste" burger builder was fully integrated and let me absolutely get the details I wanted. Once the order was complete it got me to pick up an elecronic device known as a "Table Tracker", this allowed me to bring my kid upstairs to the play place with my number and pretty close after ordering two gentlemen came upstairs with my order on a wooden paddle, and my daughters happy meal carried separately and carefully. The men asked us if we wanted any condiments, to which we asked for ketchup to which they happily obliged.
No restaurant, especially fast food, has evolved over time quite like McDonalds. I though McCafe was a pretty big deal when it came around but now McDonalds seems to be catering to thise who want real food, with real service one could experience at a standard family restaurant. Except i dont have to wait 35 minutes to an hour gor my order to come about.
I imagine it wont be like this all the time, in fact im pretty sure to expect just like what happened to FatBurger. Sure everyones enthusiastic now, give it a month and some change and well be back to old habbits.
But for now, I will remember the excellent service and encourage it...
