Very awesome pasta spot! It looks a bit of a hole in the wall (not dingy or anything, but very small and a little disorganized at the time that I visited - might not always be that way), but the pasta rivals much fancier Italian restaurants, not just in taste but also in presentation! I got the ricotta herb gnocchi and with just one bite I realized that I hadn't tried really good gnocchi up to this point. The gnocchi were so soft and almost melted in my mouth as I ate. Served in a delicious pesto cream sauce with sauteed vegetables. I especially liked the fennel. This dish left me feeling satiated but not heavy - it was a perfect portion size and also made right. I am not exaggerating when I say that I could've gone to a high-end Italian restaurant and been served the gnocchi exactly as it was and left very happy. So $18 for this is kind of a steal even if it's not budget pricing. I had a tiramisu for dessert - I love tiramisu and didn't realize they had it here so was pumped to try it. The dessert cups are prepared in plastic cups designed to be easy to take to go, so the presentation is obviously not as fancy as you get with the pasta, but still delicious! The cream had a great depth of flavour that you don't get with cheap tiramisu - it's the real stuff! This was $5, which is also a great price since it's cheaper than basically any dessert you'll get in a sit-down restaurant and tiramisu in particular can get expensive to make, so you know they're not overcharging. The caring service was another pleasant surprise given the size of the space! I and other customers were greeted very warmly when we entered and sent off graciously when we were leaving, the person who took my order cleared and wiped down the counter for me so I could sit without me saying anything and was really apologetic about the mess in a good-natured way, not the stressed-out food service worker way, though I assured them it was totally fine. And food will be brought to you if you dine in. Everything is made to order so it's not instant, but they prepared my food as quickly as I could reasonably expect it to be put together - I wasn't keeping track but it probably took about 10 minutes, if that. Lovely lovely place and I highly recommend! I'm not in this neighbourhood often but I'll definitely want to come back if I'm nearby again.

This place made me fall in love with pizza again. Such a unique recipe and pie. Full of flavour in every bite. Awesome staff too

We visited today and ordered two personal pizzas (Calabrese and Funghi) along with Nonna's lasagne. Given the restaurant's branding as casual 'street food' with minimal seating, I was surprised by the high prices. However, based on the rave reviews, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was extremely underwhelmed by the quality and taste of the food. The Funghi pizza lacked depth in flavor; I was expecting a rich mushroom taste, but it felt more like ham, mushroom, and cheese on toast, with barely any sauce or fungi flavor. The Calabrese pizza also lacked flavor, except for a slight kick from the Calabrese sausage which was sparse. The lasagne looked great, but again it lacked depth of flavour and tasted no better than a frozen lasagne from Costco. My 5 year old daughter has helped me make better tasting pizza with delicious store bought italian pizza sauce. To make matters worse, after waiting 18-20 minutes for the lasagne to bake and the pizzas to be made, the food was served lukewarm. I’m puzzled by the glowing reviews and wonder if I simply ordered the wrong items. The limited seating meant we had to sit outside, which was unpleasant due to the constant noise from passing construction trucks on East Hastings. To top it off, they didn’t even provide water cups, which I found disappointing. We nearly ordered a large pizza, priced at $35, but I’m glad we didn’t, as we would have had a lot of expensive leftovers we didn’t want. Overall, we were truly disappointed with my experience at Nonna’s.

Very overdue review. I went here with a friend many months ago for dinner in December 2023. He had been dying to go as I've been raving about this place to all my friends. I even recommended this place to my lash tech! (she liked it as well).

It was my first time going in person as I've only ever ordered from them online. What stood out to me about the food of this place was that as the name implies, tasted and felt very home-y/ comforting. The quality of the food is great and the portions are fair too. I'm quite picky with Italian food. I don't like when things are too salty or heavy. Every time I've ordered from them online, I was very full and didn't feel gross after.

We ordered their lasagna and rigatoni (my favourites). It was a little awkward and I didn't want to make a big deal out of it but they forgot to add sausage to the rigatoni we ordered. There was 100% no meat in it and I was sure of it since last time I ordered it, it was quite visible and chunky (in a good way). It was still good regardless. Though, I was a bit sad since I was hyping it up so much for my friend.

The owner of the store who happened to be sitting behind us (I think his name was Joe) graciously offered us a meatball and cannoli's as compensation after overhearing our conversation! All the workers were so attentive and super friendly/chatty. The restaurant itself only really had 3-4ish seats total so I would suggest to support them online or do takeout if you can. Even without being compensated, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for making our...
