Cảm ơn, BANH MI... That was rad! Obanhmi is where you’ll find Viet Nam’s best street food—signature banh mi, rolls, and iced coffee—only quality ingredients, no frills, and all smiles. I hauled a super yummy, stuffed veggie Bánh Mì Chay as a combo with a large refreshing and perfectly bittersweet CAFE SỮA ĐÁ (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) plus a vibrant, super yummy fat Gỏi Cuốn Chay (Vegetarian Tofu Salad Roll) for under 16 bucks! The marinated tofu was vibrant, fragrant and had a bold smoky aromatic taste with great texture throughout. The CAFE SỮA ĐÁ (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) was phenomenal, legit one of the best I ever had. Top tip, save your delicious leftover satay sauce for dunking your veggie Bánh Mì Chay :p. For sure, this was an awesome experience at low fare and very reasonable price with a minimal fuss style approach to Vietnamese street food. I'm totally stoked to go again and now officially hooked! They also have a great rewards scheme so get saving for that next sub! Support BC...

The end result was pretty mediocre. Both of us got the cold cut, and it was nothing to really write home about. Sandwiches were lukewarm, but the bread was still a bit crusty. I wish there were more toppings inside, especially given the raise in cost. I should have gotten the spicy option, and they did ask while I was ordering, but I declined. Pretty mid banh mi overall. As well, the A/C kept leaking over the doorway, which...
Read moreThis has become our go-to place for banh mi in Surrey (their original location), and now in Vancouver since they opened in our area, so we are very familiar with their sandwiches. We are willing to pay more for their sandwiches because of the quality.
I’m not sure what happened yesterday (Saturday July 29, 2023), but our sandwiches were very disappointing. Our breads were stale, and the Deluxe Classic was 1/3 smaller and looked like it came from somewhere else. The meat also tasted off.
If you run out of good bread, then do what Ba Le does and just close the shop for the day. Don’t serve your customers subpar sandwiches - cuz that’s how you lose customers.
I’m hoping the owners will see this and make sure it won’t...
