Went one Thursday evening with a few friends and their kidlets for some after-picnic dessert and my first impression of the store was the minimalistic/simplistic decor that opens up a spacious place! The amount of open space meant less tables and chairs for people to sit down and chit chat but it was not the end of the world! We were lucky enough to find a seating large enough for 4 adults and 2 children. There was a IG-worthy wall on one side that was a great photo opportunity but there was a bit of foot traffic when we were there so we were unable to snap a shot.

Taste 5/5 - I'm a picky person when it comes to my Salted Caramel icecream and so far I love going to Molly Moon's when I'm in Seattle but I was very happy to find a similar taste here at Rain or Shine! :D I'm a happy camper!

Price 4/5 - fairly reasonable for the amount we get but also in a sense on the higher price range. I wouldn't be able to come every day or once a week.. the savings account would hate me (and also my belly too)... but it would be a great place to visit once every two weeks or so for a sweet treat :D

Menu 5/5 - It's a small-er menu compared to other ice cream locations but it more so feels like they put their best flavors on the wall! Easier to read and less distractions when making a choice!

Location 3/5 - It's on the busy streets of Cambie and parking is certainly not easy or free. Be prepared to have your coins for parking meters or the "Pay by Phone" app installed! Public transit is convenient though, there is a #15 bus stop right in front of the shop for easy arrival...

Literally my favourite ice cream place in the entire world!!!! Love the cute purple cow with an ice cream cone on its head inside and the clean inside space; some room to sit and eat inside and lots of room outside across the street. The ice cream portions are huge; single scoop with two flavours is featured in my photo and it fills the whole cone/cup. The flavours aren’t super fancy but I actually love that - just wholesome delicious, creamy ice cream!

My faves are cracked mint (true mint with bits of chocolate), roasted strawberry (seasonal and delish!) and coconut (one of their vegan options; super coconutty but doesn’t seem like they make this any more or perhaps its seasonal?).

I’ve tried every flavour so let me break it down in no particular order! Balsamic blueberry - good but strong balsamic flavour and gets to be a lot lol. Honey comb malted milk - super sweet, too sweet for me but unique. London fog, very light. Vanilla, very true strong vanilla taste. Chocolate, super rich type of fudgey chocolate and for pure chocolate lovers. Salted caramel, typical and tastes like it should. Lemon square (seasonal), super lemony with bits of cake. Birthday cake, super sweet and tastes like a vanilla cake with sprinkles and cake bits; fan favourite for birthday cake lovers out there (I am not one though). Nothing is a solid stand out or unique but their flavours are very true and strong for whatever you decide to pick.

Overall the best ice...

Haven’t been here in ages as it’s not in our hood. But was close by the other day (well actually right next door to an Earnst, but since it was Tue thought we’d pop by Rain and shine for Taco Tue.

Taco Tue:

$6.75 for 1 scoop $7.25 for 2 scoops plus topping and whip cream in a taco.

Between 3 tacos we got:

Lavender honey, coffee toffee and salted caramel

Toppings: berry compote, toffee bits and not sure about my son’s

Lavender honey and coffee toffee were good. Salted Carmel was ok. The caramel bits were strange. Daughter had also chosen caramel bits as a topping. Not sure how to describe them but the weren’t hard but bite into them easily. They had a strange texture but didn’t taste like toffee. See the photo, can’t quite describe. Colour isn’t even right.

The waffle taco shell it’s served in was also strange for me. It wasn’t crunchy like a cone but it broke apart on bite/touch. Maybe I’m just picky as I’m use to a hard cone. Didn’t like it.

Aside from us ordering too much since hubby didn’t really eat any, thought it was only ok as the ice cream was soft too. I think it would be a lot better if the ice cream was harder.

Prefer Earnst and Rocky...
