I work a block away, so I’ve been to Rogue countless times over the past few years — both for quick lunches and after-work drinks. It’s one of those spots that manages to hit a sweet balance between casual and a little upscale.

The food is consistently solid. The tuna poke bowl is fresh and filling without being heavy, and the steak sandwich is surprisingly good for a place that doesn’t market itself as a steakhouse. Their burger lineup is solid too. I also really appreciate that the menu has vegetarian and gluten-free options that actually taste good.

Drinks are creative, and the bartenders know their stuff. The cocktails are well made — not the watered-down versions you get at some chains. The “Bourbon Smash” is a personal favourite, and the wine list, while not massive, is thoughtfully curated.

Service is generally friendly, although it can be hit-or-miss on really busy days. I’ve had servers go above and beyond, but also a few slow nights where we had to wave someone down more than once. Still, they usually recover quickly and with a smile.

The vibe is lively, especially during happy hour, but not obnoxious. It’s a good place for small work gatherings or casual catch-ups. They do need to work on managing table noise though — sometimes it gets a little loud in the main area.

All in all, Rogue is a reliable spot with quality food, well-made drinks, and a good energy. I just wish they’d rotate the menu a bit more — if you’re a regular, you start craving...

The best service I've ever experienced at a restaurant and the cheeseburger I had was amazing. We had maybe been waiting 20 mins for our food, when the manager came up and profusely apologized for us having to wait so long (which I didn't think we had been waiting long at all) and offered to pay for our drinks and gave us free dessert. It's the only restaurant I have ever been to where they seem to actually appreciate their customers. We had just been visiting from Calgary, but the next time we're in Vancouver we will definitely be going back. Oh and the cheesecake is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted.

UPDATE: 20180621 We recently returned to this location because we have now moved to Vancouver and I am very disappointed with our second visit. Our first visit was so amazing and I'm sad to say they didn't keep up their reputation. Our server had to be waved down 4 times to get him to come over to our table because he only checked in with us once our entire meal. The food took a very long time to get to our table (and the restaurant was not busy). We all got the burgers again and this time they were over cooked and dry. In my original post I gave it 5 stars, but now I've changed it to 3. It has over 2,700 views and I'm sad to say I probably mislead those people who went there expecting my first experience. I get really frustrated when restaurants are inconsistent. We won't...

We stopped by here before seeing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with the VSO at the Orpheum. This is such a cool space to hang out in and I always like eating here.

I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger as I love mushrooms and cheese with my burger. The meat was great, lots of fresh veggies, gooey cheese, lots of mushrooms so a perfect, messy burger! The fries were very crispy and thick, they went nicely with the burger.

My wife ordered the Korean Chicken Tacos with fried battered chicken, crispy cabbage, pickled red onion, chipotle aioli & pico de gallo. It was beautifully presented, so colourful and tasted even better!

Our older son ordered the Bacon Cheddar Smash Burger with double smoked bacon and sharp cheddar which he loved along with the crispy fries!

Our younger son ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a spicy breaded chicken thigh, some jalapeño ranch slaw and fresh veggies. He loves a good crispy chicken sandwich and this one fit the bill!

Our older son had a pint of Lions Gate Lager, my wife had a 9oz glass of Merlot, I had a Banditry Raspberry Lemon draft cider and our youngest son had a Sprite. The drinks all went nicely with our meals. It was a great culinary experience before the performance. Amanda our server was great and made us feel very welcome! We would definitely...

This restaurant is located at Vancouver's Waterfront Station. I and 11 of my friends went there a few minutes before the beginning of the new year, it was very crowded and there was no place to sit. They took our number and called us about half an hour after the start of the new year and we went there. They gave us a big table that was in one of the sub-halls of the restaurant and it was a private and nice environment. I ordered a burger and my friends ordered cocktails and food. I had been there a few times and couldn't find a place to sit, and because it was so crowded, I wanted to try it once, which was a good experience. The waiters who worked there were also very orderly and behaved well. I don't know if I will go there again, because it's hard to stay on the waiting list and I usually don't have enough time to stay on the waiting list (considering that there are a lot of restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby) but I hope to have a chance before Let me go there again. The only negative thing that can be seen here is the restrooms, there are many paper towels on the floor around the entrance and inside, and I think this is because passers-by who want to get out of the bus and subway. They go there to go to the bathroom.

The food? Seriously good and every bite was a win. And the beers? We were feeling adventurous and asked for something sour. The server’s recommendations were top-notch; she clearly knew her stuff and steered us right. A real highlight. Now, here’s the "but," and it's a real shame... the cleanliness needs a major step up. Our first small plate came out with a bit of grime on it. We politely asked for a new one, and the replacement was in the same condition. Then, my Aperol Spritz glass arrived with a little something stuck on the rim, the stem was so sticky it was leaking, and it left a ring on the menu. We ended up just not using the second plate and I drank my cocktail with a straw to avoid making another fuss. Since our waitress was so lovely and busy, we didn't want to trouble her a third plate replacement. Final verdict? I’ll definitely be back for those flavors and that stellar beer advice. But I’ll be crossing my fingers that they’ve tightened up the ops in the back because this spot is too good to be let down by something so basic.
