I bought a pad siew here for $22, I was expecting a big or even a decent portion for that price but when I opened the box the portion was extremely small! Someone who’d have thought I bought it at a Michelin star restaurant for how small it was. Besides it being a small portion that you could probably finish it in 3 spoonful, half of it is full of onions.

I went ahead and complained about how small the portion is considering I paid $22 for it, their response is because they weigh the noodles. It’s still doesn’t justify the price you’re paying for it. I insisted on getting a refund since it’s really is a riff-off regardless if this location is in Granville Island. The Filipino cashier was trying to humiliate and yell at me in front of under customers and repeatedly explaining to me that they weigh the noodles. I am not dumb to understand her the 1st time but she what she doesn’t get it is that it’s unacceptable to charge that much for such a small portion. The Filipino lady was so rude! The other cashier though was very nice and offered me a refund.

Don’t go here if you want a decent size food. No wonder this stall hardly any line-ups compare the rest of the food stalls in the food court. It’s mainly why I ordered food here, because I didn’t want to line-up. I should have known better by that indication to...

EDIT Sept 1, 2021*: I have to say I am a little disappointed as I have been going to this place many times throughout COVID and picked up the same Pad Thai over and over. Now today, not only the portion size is way less, the price has gone up (which I understand everything has gone up and I have no problem with that), but the taste is now different, very salty and mushy. Seems like they have different cook each time, so the quality is not consistent anymore. Maybe they grow too big with too many restaurants (part of Maneam) and hard to find staff. They've got to keep the quality consistent.

This is a great Pad Thai place for many years, they moved to the Market Food court finally. During COVID, one thing very important to me, perhaps I am a germaphobic, they clean the credit card machine each and every time someone uses it, and what's even more amazing is they do not touch the utensils they pass to you, they use tongs to carry them to you. Perfect for what we are faced with nowadays. I have always been a fan of their Pad Thai and Beef Basil, you won't taste the same pad thai anywhere else, now I have another reason to go back and...

The food was decent, but the overall experience was underwhelming considering the high cost of $22 for what essentially felt like typical food court fare. Waiting for my $19 tofu pad Thai, with an extra $3 for shrimp, was not pleasant amid the constant foot traffic and lack of a proper waiting area. On a Friday afternoon around 3:15 pm, finding indoor seating proved challenging—searching for over 15 minutes, I resorted to sitting on wet benches outside. Even seated outside, a group of annoying teen tourists just so happened to be yelling nearby constantly. This issue seems to be a problem in this food court rather than specific to this one stall. While better seating arrangements could make the experience better, the current crowd control needs significant improvement. For $22, I could go to a nearby sit-down restaurant and order one of their cheaper food options, which, although a different cuisine, would have a more relaxed atmosphere that I think is a better overall experience. Overall, the overcrowded seating situation significantly detracted from the...

🍜 A Taste of Thailand at Granville: Sen Pad Thai's Delight 🌶️💸 🎒 Strolling through Granville Island, curiosity led me to Sen Pad Thai, a gem within the bustling food court and a sibling to the renowned MAENAM. The aroma of authentic Thai cooking was an instant draw. 🇹🇭 🍤 Opting for the CLASSIC SEN PAD THAI with prawns, I was immediately struck by the rich, authentic flavors, although it was notably salty and a touch pricier than expected. Yet, the quality spoke volumes. 🦐💰 🌟 While the food court setting doesn't lend itself to stylish décor or dedicated service, the focus here is purely on the food – a vibrant testament to Thai culinary traditions. 🛍️ 👀 Despite the saltiness and price tag, the experience was a flavorful adventure worth taking. It's a reminder that great taste often comes with a cost, but the authenticity of each dish shines through. 🌈 🔄 I'm already planning my next visit, eager to explore more of their menu. Sen Pad Thai, with its straightforward charm and bold flavors, is a must-try for enthusiasts of genuine Thai cuisine on Granville Island. 🥢💖

I don't know about the pad thai or other dishes but I can tell you their pad see ew is the best thing ever and is what makes this place a 5/5. No other place that I know of makes it like this. They use these clear sheet noodles that really make the dish unique. The flavor depends on the cook but it's usually super flavorful and has a rich "wok hay". I drive over 20 minutes at least twice a month and pay for parking at granville island just to have this pad see ew. I recommend it to any and all friends when they ask what to eat. I honestly like it that much. As you can tell, I am quite passionate about it. If they used actual beef slices I think it'd be tastier than the ground beef they use, but regardless I would pick this dish over anything else at granville island (and most things in general...) Attached is a photo of the 5 pad see ew's I ordered because I like it that much. And no, i'm not sponsored.

The food is good. Definitely. But the portion was only half of the container full - and for $22 plus tax. It was really pricey for what I got. I may as well have gone to an actual restaurant. I would have gotten service and a bigger portion for that price - if not less. What happened to food court style/takeout prices? I asked if the portion size was normal and she said yes. That they weigh everything. Except, I watched the chef the entire time and he eyeballed everything into a container, cooked it, and then put the portion into two containers. One for me, and one for himself I’m assuming because it was the end of the day before close and no one else had ordered. Whether or not he took my food - or portioned for two, and took more for himself is unknown. But the price being so high and the portion I received was so small. I won’t be getting it again even though I enjoyed it. Unfortunate
